    Wednesday, April 16
Hot shower, Axe Chilled Face Wash
    Homemade PSO
    Lather, hot towel
    Merkur HDC
    Polsilver (1)
    C. O. Bigelow
    Cold water, Thayers, Styptic
    Stetson Cooling Moisture AS
    3 passes - W, X, A, touch-ups

I made a rookie mistake: I changed more than one variable at a time (my Experimental Psych prof would be so disappointed). This was my first shave with a Polsilver. I also employed J-hooking for the first time (after watching the video kindly shared by @swarden43 yesterday) during my third pass. Consequently, I don't know if the extremely nice shave on my jaw line, and the intense irritation on my entire neck, are due to the blade or the technique. Live and learn.

    Prep: CeraVe cleanser
    Soap: HTGAM Synergy unscented
    Brush: Oscar11 with HIS knot
    Razor: iKon ShaveCraft
    Blade: Kai
    After: Cold rinse, CeraVe

Excellent shave with same setup as yesterday. The HTGAM and the wonderful Oscar11 brush delivered great lather. The Kai blade is certainly decent, but there are other blades that I like just as well or better that cost a fraction of the premium price of these.

    Excellent shave
Today I tried Barrister & Mann Ferox, and it's a solid performer. The lather was easy and thick, thanks to my Plisson. This brush really feels different from my HIS... it's so soft that I almost don't feel it on my face - the lather just appears as if from nothing. Even though these are third generation bristles (HIS features fourth generation), the Plisson is softer. I don't know if it exfoliates, and if it does I cannot feel it. Guys who like scritch will not like the Plisson. My face feels great, so I really enjoy this brush.

The Ferox has a complex scent. It smells of grapefruit and spice, almost a peppery citrus. I don't like to eat grapefruit, but I love their smell. I think B&M really has something with Ferox. This one is so good that I'll stop into the bathroom just to get another whiff. The soap performs very well. I like Shea butter and lanolin, and the combination here is top notch. I got a very nice and comfortable shave without irritation or weepers. I chose my aftershave to match the grapefruit scent, but the neither scent lingers much, so they would not interfere with an EDT or cologne.

I've begun to take the RazoRock/How to Grow a Moustache pre-shave soap for granted. It's that good. The lime oil really makes my face feel clean, while the mild menthol is refreshing. It seems to boost whatever soap I face lather over it, with no need to palm or bowl lather for the first pass. I enjoy this soap so much that I'll sometimes use it at night just to wash my face. It leaves my face feeling clean and fresh. I would definitely use this to freshen up if I didn't have time for a full shower between work and a night out.

Prep: RR/HTGAM lime menthol pre-shave soap
    Soap: B&M Ferox
    Brush: Plisson synthetic
    Razor: iKon ShaveCraft 101
    Blade: Personna Med Prep (2)
    AS: Shea Moisture aftershave elixir

    WEDNESDAY
    Happy Hump Day!

A 'Cella' morning. I can understand why guys buy big blocks of this almond-scented Italian semi-soft soap. Great lather with a killer scent.
Another fine R41 shave; 3-passes with this 2013 model, whereas I only do two with the older, more aggressive 2011 version.
    Darn near BBS, too!

Un felice Mercoledì a tutti voi! (Happy Wednesday to you all!)

    Hot shower
    Prep: Homemade PSO
    Brush: Omega Pro 49
    Soap: Cella
Razor: '63 Gillette Slim on 6
    Blade: Personna Red (1)
    Aftershave: Aqua Velva Ice Blue

The new, Personna Red provided a MUCH more comfortable shave than the Rapira that I used for two shaves prior. Like the Rapiras, the Reds were also part of a PIF from Lutebro... Thanks!
