    Three Pass Shaving Routine..

Hot Water Prep & Massage with Argan Oil
    C. Myers & Sons Sheffield Full Hollow 6/8th
    Hans Baier Silver Tip
    Phoenix & Beau Tallow Soap
    Logona Mann Balm

I Had a Late Evening Shave with My C. Myers & Sons Sheffield Full Hollow 6/8th..I Finished this Razor on My Newly Acquired Coticule..It has Some Blood Like Veins Running through it..This Particular Barbers Finishing Coticule Does Live Up to the Legendry Reputation of what I Would Describe as a Mellow Buttery Smooth Edge whilst being Keen Enough to Deliver a Smooth & Close BBS Result..;)

I Like this Stone..I Like the Edge..I Found it as Easy to Use as a 12 K Naniwa Stone..I Had One of My Most Comfortable & Closest Shaves to Date..:D

    I Am Dolphin Smooth & Refreshed..:kar:

    Saturday morning's shave
    vintage Crabtree & Evelyn Sienna
    Truefitt & Hill (Rooney) 1/2 Ebony/Silvertip
vintage Gillette gold Aristocrat razor circa 1940's as best as I can surmise
NOS Brooks by Appointment blade, carbon (1)

The story here is the blade. As some of you know I frequently use vintage carbon blades. Carefully sourced, carefully inspected and always stropped (I don't really know if that helps or not but wise to be cautious with these). I got quite a few packs of these some time back from a collector whose father or grandfather bought them new and he, the collector kept them along with all his stash in a small room where he used a de-humidifier. Anyway the package looks classy I always thought with that navy blue and gold and they are all completely sealed, the cellophane unbroken. Long story short it was a great shave. Smooth, comfortable and close. The king of my carbon blade collection (Schick Deluxe with Krona edge) still wears the crown but this is in that pack at second place.

I'd love to get a Burley, but as an Aftershave.

Would you believe when I lived in Greece I was using Burley for a while? It was available at a good price!

Tonight's shave was with one touched up by the SB Arkie progression stone. It took a very sharp edge, and gave a fantastic 2 pass shave. Zero issues, just BBS goodness. Excellent razor.

Razor- W.H.Morley & Son's Clover Brand Razor. Barbers Notch
    Brush- B400 By Tom

Thanks Tim. Trying to cycle through all my DE's before moving on to SE and just might do it with the same blade. I use the Alum Block to tighten the pores and as an indication that the blade is getting rough as I rarely draw weepers in the past 4 years that I switched to the preshave routine listed each day. More of a force of habit at this point.

I list a pre-shave oil on nearly all my SOTD's but dont' use the stuff every time now that I've gotten familiar with my razors. The soaps I use are nearly all well moisturized and provide good protection. The pre-shave oil was used like 'training wheels' and now I only will use it if my skin is dry or I don't have a whole lot of prep time for proper lathering and hot enough water or if the soap I'm using is not a heavily moisturizing soap. There are still a few days here and there where my neck feels a little tore up and an Alum Block would likely be of help. That's usually when I try to push for a closer shave and make dangerous maneuvers and decisions in pursuit of a super close shave. In other words, I try to get greedy and push the envelope when I know I already get a plenty great enough shave sticking to my tried and true routine.

Thank you very much Doug - I greatly appreciate it :thanks:

I actually wanted the reflection that way - but wasn't sure it would actually work...

That's the beauty of our wetshaving addiction we find what works for us. My routine has taken me from a 3-4 pass shaver to a 2 pass shave and only 3 weepers in 4 years

Since I have some facial hair and I don't shave my whole face, I tend to do a single pass with a few counter-grain strokes mixed in and then a light clean-up with some new lather for any spots that don't feel smooth. I don't think I need multiple passes when I'm not shaving my whole face. Just my neck, cheeks and two tiny spots under my lower lip to give my facial hair a cool definition/look.

Oh, and I also do a very tiny shave/trim to the weird hairs on my eyebrows so that I don't look like Brezhnev
    [IMG]

And I also lather and shave the back of my neck while using a hand mirror so it looks perfectly lined up.
