Shave Of The Day - April 23rd Hot Shower E. J. Badger Brush Feats of Clay Scuttle The "Thing" Cream - 4711 Scent Ming Shi TTO Derby Blade - Day 1 Homemade Skin Food Osage Rub :freezing :freezing :freezing Murray & Lanman Florida Water After talking with Jeff about his razor, and Danny and Bob talking about the "Thing" cream, I decided to break out the Ming Shi and drive it around my face with cushion and slickness provided by the "Thing". I followed that up with a blast o' menthol courtesy of Osage Rub, and then topped it all off with the great smell of Florida water. Resulting in one very, very nice shave! :happy005

Hey there Sailor, great to see a post by you, hope you are staying healthy and safe. As always, thanks for serving our country! If you are in need of shaving supplies, let us know, I'm sure something can be done to get you supplied with what you need.
Saturday - It's the WEEKEND! :happy069 Time for the SEs Prep: Hot shower, hand strop blade, soak brush Coffee: Home roasted Kenya, shot of Bailey's Caramel creamer (caramel hits my sweet tooth) Soap: Vintage Blade house soap Brush: ??? Boar Razor: Ever Ready 1912 w/ ornate handle Blade: Gem, day 3, 3+ passes Post: Cold water rinse, ice water splash, Humphreys Maravilla Lotion, Curve 'Stache Wax: Wacky Tacky Shave Rating: 4 Blades I get my best SE shaves from my MMs, but this was still a good one. No complaints. I love the smell of the Vintage Blade soap, and my wife loves the smell of the Curve. I'm a happy camper ! Yes. I know. Coffee any other way than BLACK is just wrong. But sometimes ya just gotta get bad. Caramel is my favorite, and when I saw the Bailey's there as my wife was picking up her French Vanilla, I said, "Eh, why not?" It wasn't too bad. I still prefer my coffee black, but this was a nice change of pace. Definitely not an everyday thing.
Hot Shower Frederick Reynolds Chopper Semogue 2000 Palmolive Shave Stick British Sterling Hang in there Sailor. I remember those kind of deployments. The ones that suck so bad that you miss every little detail about being home, even the stuff that you totally take for granted on a routine basis. Stay safe and get home soon. I'll keep you in my prayers, brother.
hahaha The thing I really forget to be thankful for when Im home is not walking a block to the bathroom or shower just to find out its our of water and by this time I need to run to the next one. Not to mention mixing your own Shaving Cream with chlorinated water doesnt work very well at all. All in all this isnt a bad deployment. Im on a better base then when I was in Afghanistan so we have a 24 hour Gym, a 24 hour Galley (chow hall, DFAC, Mess Hall), and Im a 1000 times safer so my family and loved ones are happy but its driving me crazy being trapped inside these T-Walls. I reshaved today with my Gillette and a feather blade and fixed my patchy straight shave up. Thanks for the support.
I am so glad I never have to shave out of a listerbag again. And have a crappy field shave. And use Aqua Velva.:taunt002 Sorry I'm having fun at your expense but you'll look back on these times and miss the people you were with and the crap that went along with the situations. And then you'll remember me saying this and laughing at your expense because I don't have to do that anymore and then perhaps you will even make a post similar to this in The Shave Den circa 2025, to the young guy on active duty. :happy102 BE SAFE AND GET THE EFF BACK HOME IN ONE PIECE!

Still a bit more work than SE shaving. Sailor, and all current and previous military men/women out there-a sincere thanks for serving. We can argue the politics of the fights until we're blue in the face but nobody can argue that it takes a special person to put their lives on hold and risk their safety for their country.

Saturday, April 24, 2010 Razor: Jaggerooney Blade: Super Iridium Brush: Vulfix 2234 Super Cream: Erasmic A/S: Generic Witch Hazel, Speick Balm Unlike (IMO) the reformulated Erasmic shave stick, the Erasmic cream is a very pleasant and efficacious shave product. I enjoy the scent, too, which is an important part of the experience. The Jaggerooney (Jagger/Muehle head with a Rooney handle in faux horn), paired with a Super Iridium blade, delivered a DFS+, irritation-free shave. And the Speick balm was an excellent finish on this chilly, rainy day.
