Saturday: Vulfix 247 pure badger Brian Solomon Cherry Almond SC (test batch) Fromm shavette (day1) Witch Hazel CVS Old Spice AS The Brian's shaving cream performed well again this morning. I'm even getting used to the cherry scent*. The Fromm was only so so for me. I don't know if the blade isn't very sharp and/or if it's the light weight of the shavette, but it just didn't seem to do it. It could also be horrible technique. This is my first experience with a straight/shavette. I'll try it again. *Brian told me that his wife baked him a cherry pie before he was deployed and he scented the shaving cream this way as a way to feel at home again. A very sweet story from a stand up guy.

Rainy Sunday Schick I2 Injector with Schick blade Cremo Cream Re-knotted Ever-Ready best badger brush I like Cremo. You have to get used to the fact that the lather isn't supposed to be thick and rich as with other creams, but it works. The smell is not unpleasant, but it doesn't follow you around afterward, which is the important thing. Have a good Sunday everybody!
Sunday 4/25 . . . Prep: Rite Aid Skin Cleansing Cream & Hot Towel Brush: C&E BBB Cream: C&E Sandalwood Razor: '09 Gillette Old Type with Single Ring Handle Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock SharpEdge DE (shave 5) Oil Pass: Leisureguy's Last-Pass Shave Oil A/S: Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel Toner & Haslinger Sandalwood ASB EDT: C&E Sandalwood EDT Result: Great BBS shave. Got back to the basics with my brush and cream. Two original implements I used when I returned to DE shaving over 2 years ago. I particularly like the C&E BBB. No blood or irritation.

The lather is insane when you get it going, and the great part is, it's so stable and easy to create. I love this soap!
Hot Shower Wade and Butcher Wedge Semogue 1305 Arko Shavestick Mentholated Witch Hazel Murray and Lanman's Colonia de Rosas A touch up hone seemed to help a little. It's not a bad shaver, mind you, it just isn't a remarkable shaver. I'm not sure if I want to take it back to the hone for another touch up or just strop the hell out of it and call it good
Sunday, April 25, 2010 Razor: Merkur Progress XL Blade: Super Iridium Brush: Simfix Grosvenor LE Soap: Proraso Green Tea & Aloe (white tub) A/S: Generic Witch Hazel, Proraso Balm The Proraso GT&A produced a fine lather, leading to a great shave. I really like that stuff. It does, contrary to some comments I've seen, contain menthol--just a touch, though. The distinctive white tub will be a permanent member of my shaving soap arsenal.

Couple of nice set ups there 'Hawk! Those 4/8's are really great to shave with. (probably why most of the barbers razors were 4/8; much more maneuverable) I always get too carried away with the strokes however and that spike gets me every time! (I hate it when that happens.) :happy102
