You gotta get one Tim - The KRONA can be found for peanuts! Heck - I own 4 of em - and one was a NOS - still packaged - the NOS one was pricey at 60 bucks and 5 bucks shipping.. but get one Tim - i swear its better the a super speed (NOT the red tip - the rest - the red tip is better than the krona)

 

Same setup tomorrow as today. I'll comment that if I still have enough of the Stoylin Sandpiper A.S. for the humidity of the summer, I'm looking forward to comparing that with the Clubman Gents Gin for comfort. Course I have other summer options(Aqua Velva, Gillette Series Cool Wave, Avon 4 Men), and for soap the famous(and icy)Stoylin Glacial Wintergreen, and I think a couple more shaves with Local Gent Fields&Streams.

 

HECK YEAH!!! ROBBY is KILLLLLLING IT! after a year of shave secret and mostly the Mach 3 ( I did like the eXtreme 3 shots better - because that was my favorite razor before the DE/SE addiction started) - you are pulling out the heavy artillery!

It's easy when you have a vintage AVON shave mug! the Old Spice mugs get all the love - but this Avon mug is so great - reminds me of my childhood - my parents had a kitchen with ORANGE Formica counter tops and my mom had a 1980 Olds OMEGA with orange paint (looked just like the Nova's at the time) - so ORANGE takes me back! Kelly Green takes me back to my high school - the "greenwave"

Decided to try out the Rex brush I recently restored, and it's a beauty. It lathers really good and when using it on my face, it has a badger-like softness to it. I wish modern boar knots felt as good as this one. Went with two passes and minor touch up for a very smooth and comfortable BBS shave.

Acceptable shave. Several nicks, and not as close as my first shave with this set-up on Monday. I really feel the blade in this razor, and I don't know if that's good or bad. Everything stings after the shave...cold water, even the TP Face Lotion. But I don't get a lot of redness, which surprises me. I'll count it.

 

What all did you do to restore that brush? It's quite handsome. Do you have "before" pictures?

First dance with the Black Beauty. A little different balance from the Fatboy & Slim so my hand creeped/crept up closer to the adjustment knob. So slight difference in feel but equally good result.
