I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. Jeff's Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #268 synthetic horse brush. I did two passes with the J.A. Henckels 5/8 Straight Razor and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

This shave was so much fun as well as BBS. The Green Fields soap is so full of peppermint that its delicious scent fills the bathroom while you're lathering up and shaving - not only that, it so cooling that you'd think it was a menthol soap. The Lucky Tiger balm and the Aqua Velva were a perfect finish!

It's been a while since I've used a DE and this very efficient little piece of hardware was a good choice.
I was fortunate enough to try NOS Gillette Platinum Plus blades and bought these modern Gillettes because of the word "Platinum".
I don't know what "Plus" meant in the old blades but these blades are lacking whatever it was. I've tried worse blades but there are many better ones out there.
I really like the A&B balm, not greasy, leaves the skin both soft and toned, and the scent is a good companion to the Jermyn St. soap.

Very satisfying shave to end my week. Speick cream is a delight in scent, performance and post shave feel. I'll be giving the slant a rest and switching over to the Fatip next week as I work my way through my 5 blade rotation.

Good morning friends. Excellent three pass shave this morning with the PAL Injecto-Matic. Marvelous, freezing cold lather from the Stirling Glacial Mita. I am smooth and refreshed. Enjoy your day friends. ☺️

 

It was a smooth two pass shave this morning with my Morley and Sons razor.

The Jayaruh #221 brush, Stirling bay rum soap and Aqua Velva aftershave also did their part for a great shave.

Chiseled Face Ghost Town Barber today. 20 seconds to load the John’s Brushes Silvertip brush. Easy, thick, slick, lather. Personna 74 Tungsten still in the Gillette NEW Short Comb. Excellent smooth, close, shave. I finished with Chiseled Face Ghost Town Barber aftershave.

In the name of scientific research and to satisfy an inquiring mind, are you able to provide a description of sensations as you move through the 'life cycle' of a 74?
i.e. - Many can comment that Feathers feel a little smoother on day 2 than day 1. Or various descriptions of the indicators that the end is near.

All the shaves are remarkably similar until I get close to my 30 shave cut-off. The last few are still excellent shaves, but there is some dulling but still no tugging. As always, YMMV.
