The Qshave is really quite a fun razor to use. At wide open setting it's easy to pop a great shave with minimal effort. Just remember minimal pressure and correct angle are absolute necessities. I used the 30DC brush to whip the Arko into fantastic mode and took two passes and just a bit of neck touchup to get to the baby. Two in a row on this beat. The main thing I don't like about this razor? It's zinc. I'd love to have one of these in brass or stainless. Can't blame a guy for dreaming, right?

Sunday SOTD​

This shave ends 21 days (20 days of them straight) with using different Bay Rum soaps in my den. I have LASS Santa Monica Bay Rum and Pyrate Cove Bay Rum w Lime in waiting but feel the need to move on to other soaps in the den. The odd day out was my birthday shave in which I used Antica Barbieria Colla shave cream, my favorite cream/soap in my den.

I found an old Gem Damanskene that needed a hone and some TLC. I adopted it, and fixed the top cap. Now it's a great shaver!
If you are on the fence about the scent, just order it. It will stay in my den.

 

Having some fun the last two days cleaning up and modifying a Wade & Butcher chopper (with many more to go), and felt I should pay homage to what the razor was intended to be with an unmolested version... very nice .

just had a great great shave. Again with a Straight Razor. I have to say, the more i shave with a Straight Razor, the more i love it. Here is what i´ve used:


Preshave: Floid Sandolor // Razor: Marsh Brothers 6/8 // Soap: SV Stella Alpina // Brush: Shavemac 23397 // Aftershave: Mennen Grand Large

A Straight Razor shave feels very good. Not as throughly as a shave with a DE-Razor, but that´s the technique and the angle while shaving. But for now i´m very impressed. Especially against the grain, it feels very good.

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. Jeff's Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #268 synthetic horse brush. I did two passes with the Rolls Razor and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

Magnificent Rubberset. Where can get one JUST like that???

 

Beautiful Guy. I have heard that the Double Strength Ogallala can be polarizing. Since you have some good experience with Bay Rum scents, how does it compare to Dominica, or Meehan? (My favorites)
