Today's shave is in honor of my Dad who would have turned 105 on this, his birthday. I will be using his E3 this week. He made the wooden handle for it.

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Almalfi Basil Lemon Shaving Soap face lathered well with Jayaruh #340 Badger brush. I did two passes with Dad's Schick E3 razor with a Personna Injector blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Lucky Tiger AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

The Almalfi Basil Lemon soap is from Vintage Life on TOST.

Ingredients: Tallow rendered from beef renet, coconut oil, castor oil, shea butter, vitamine E oil, Holy basil and lemon essential oils.

 

Monday

Prep: Warm Shower-Stirling Gentleman
Soap: Coate’s Lavender Cream
Razor: Vintage Gillette Slim
Blade: Vintage Gillette Platinum-Plus (11)
Brush: John’s Brushes Silvertip-22mmx48mm
Aftershave: Bulgari Blu

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angles for my beard)

Coate’s Lavender Cream today. 10 seconds to load the John’s Brushes Silvertip brush. Easy, thick, slick, lather. Gillette Platinum-Plus still in the Gillette Slim. Excellent smooth, close, shave. I finished with Bulgari Blu aftershave.

BBS from two slow, relaxed passes - from now on I’m going to take my time and enjoy my shaves. The Glacial Obsidian soap lathered so rich, slick, and protective with its mega-powerful menthol freeze, I enjoyed its sweet anise scent so much, and the postshave feeling was great. The matching balm felt so cold as well as soothing, and I can’t begin to explain how the Arctique froze me. My wife loves the Jean Paul Gaultier on me but very honestly I really can’t stand it! Lol

Well another A’crat was on the agenda for this morning but I decided to make it a Merkur Monday instead. Today’s choice the venerable 34G loaded with its perfect match, the Kai Super Stainless.

Soap of choice was purchased by Mrs. Somnos on a whim Col Conks Lime glycerin shaving soap. She was eyeballing the Amber also but as she had two tubes of Proraso Blue in the cart for me already she decided to forego it. The Old Spice mug is a new addition to the Den also that Mrs S found for a whopping $3! Love that Mrs S!

Proceeded to lather up with Col Conk lime and was pleasantly surprised at how nice the scent was. The APShave Co Silksmoke is a fantastic knot and whipped a very plentiful and slick lather. Three pass BBS shave was achieved. Grabbed the Elvado Wild Mint Lime balm to finish it off and added a shot of B&BW Citron to start the day. Happy Merkur Monday and happy shaves all!
