    Arko Adjustable April

    April 7

    Razor - Soviet Consul (9)
    Blade - [IMG] (1)
    Soap - Arko
Brush - Stirling Two Band Synthetic
    Post - Alum

Time to switch razors and I decided to go with the Soviet Consul. I've had six days on Gillette adjustables so it's time to switch it up. The Consul is a nice knock off of the Slim, with one difference. Bigger gaps. It's not as gappy as the Futur or its clones, but it's definitely a more aggressive razor than the Gillettes. From 9 on a Gillette, go about halfway to a 6 on a Futur and you're at 9 on the Consul.

Arko still rules the month for me, as it should, and I went with the Stirling synthetic brush. It took no effort at all to load and lather and I was off and running. The Sharp Star was my choice for a blade to keep everything Russian in my hands, and because I need a blade I know will be smooth and sharp. The Consul can be a bit bitey if you don't keep a steady hand on it. No major issues, though I did get a bit of a rough feel right under my chin on the goatee line. No blood, though, but it let me know I'd opened that angle up and was approaching butchery. All in all a very nice two pass and touch up for the near-BBS finish.

Hope your week gets off to a great start!! Tomorrow is my Sunday, if you will, so I'll be rooting for you all to have a great Monday!

At the weekend stayed at my sister in laws. where my Shaves are never that good, so used a Cart and it was not bad. I had never had a full Shave with the Feather only tentative outings so was not sure of the condition of the blade. On my return home I decided that perhaps a Full Shave with a fresh blade was warranted, so I could properly evaluate it as a Carry on Razor.

I have a heavy beard and Carts used to wreak havoc with my Skin, probably because I was not prepped and rushed things. Today I ensured I had a nice lather and did not rush. I was pleasantly surprised how smooth the Shave and I was careful not to use too much pressure, and by using the fixed head on the facial areas and the pivot around the neck I got a rathe good all round finish.
It was so much better than yesterday, as indicated by a finger test carried out post Shave. So far no post shave problems of soreness, so I shall in future use it as a Carry on Razor for short trips.

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Amalfi Basil Lemon Shave Soap face lathered well with Jayaruh #224 Synthetic brush. I did two passes with the Gem Heavy Flat Top razor with a vintage Gem Stainless SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with PSC Caffeinated AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Bundubeard Kameelperd’s Kick SS

I see I’m not the only one who used the Kameelperd this morning because a friend of mine on Master Shave in South Africa also used it! 1070ADD6-494F-4830-A54F-E2F3DB3525E7.jpeg

This soap is magnificent - like I was telling guys on other wetshaving forums that it’s a South African Glacial soap because that’s how frigid it is, but it lathers completely different. The Glacials lather just as rich but they’re more slick, and this one is thicker and puffier. The menthol effect though is just as intense. The Prep provided such wonderful extra cooling with its perfect soothing and I nearly fainted when I applied a couple of dabs of the Arctique - no other aftershave is this cold. Another great BBS shave!

Wishing you all a great week!
