Arko Adjustable April April 9 Razor - Soviet Consul (9) Blade - (3) Soap - Arko Brush - Jayaruh #230 Post - Alum One more time for the Consul and Sharp Star. Another round for the Arko, this time with the JR230. For a small brush it packs a wallop. Looks great and works great. Can't ask for more than that. Three passes for the third shave and I have this uber-aggressive razor right where I want it. Angle was perfect, no pressure, and the baby showed up to spend some time. Very nice result. The alum was just a touch warm in a few spots where I obsessed, but no real problems. I'll take it. An early start for me today. Up at 6 and out the door by 7:30. Not my usual style as I'm definitely more of a night owl. I'll return to my late morning tomorrow as I have a doctor's visit around noon so no reason to hurry up and out. Hope you all have a fantastic hump day!

I still think the criticisms of pre-shave oil somehow being hard to clean are silly and I never have a problem with my post-shave clean up of my sink and shaving gear. I'm interested to find out if the CUBE actually improves protection. I'll find out and will give my opinion, then test on more shaves to give it a full run of chances with different soaps. I doubt my pre-shave oil is in any danger, but maybe this could work? There's only one way to find out for myself.

Tim, TBH, I use the mentholated cube almost everyday. I love it. In my opinion, it definitely adds protection and provides some residual slickness. I think you will like it. Josh Sent from my LYA-L29 using Tapatalk

Williams Wednesday's Shave Cold Water Rinse Williams Mug Shave Soap Jayaruh #224 Synthetic Gem Gold Feather Weight Gem Stainless CWR PSC Caffeinated AS My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Williams Mug Shave Soap face lathered well with Jayaruh #224 Synthetic brush. I did two passes with the Gem Gold Feather Weight razor with a vintage Gem Stainless SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with PSC Caffeinated AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

My midweek shave: L’Oreal Men Expert Facial Wash Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster Wilkinson Long Handle/Wilkinson day 7 Stirling Gin & Tonic on the Rocks SS Prep ASB Alcolado Glacial Menthol Splash Bleu de Chanel EdT Such a good BBS shave despite the Wilkinson blade being much duller. I’ll change it for a Rapira for tomorrow morning so I can see how it works with this razor. The Gin & Tonic on the Rocks soap lathered like a madman, its beautiful lemony/lime scent filled the bathroom, and I enjoyed its strong menthol effect so much. It felt so good to massage my face with the Prep afterwards and the Alcolado Glacial froze me to smithereens. Smooth as a baby’s koloraki!
Razor: Colonial Razor The General Handle: Maggard MR5 Blade: Feather Pro Brush Handle: B-400 The Brush by Tom/ WildWest Brushworks Knot: APShaveCo Tuxedo/ Boss Soap: Mike's Lavender/ Dr John's Flowers in the Dark Post Care: Stirling Unscented Witch Hazel, Alum Aftershave: Dr John's Flowers in the Dark Fragrance: Dr John's Flowers in the Dark Well I'm continuing narrowing down my den so I'm trying to come up with the best lavender scented soap to keep. Today it was Mike's vs Dr John's. Off the puck I prefer the scent of Dr John's however Mike's scent improves once lathered. Speaking of lather I found that Mike's created a thicker lather with slightly more staying power. I applied the Dr John's on the right side of my face and the Mike's on the left. Both had about the same slickness, glide and cushion but both were just average; not the worst I've tired but no where near top tier. In the end the alum told the tale, I had equal burn on both sides of my face. Considering both had relatively equal performance scent is going to be the deciding factor in picking a winner here. I greatly prefer the scent from the Dr John's. The next round I will do a shave off between the Dr John's and my Martin de Candre Original to determine which I'm keeping. Have a great day folks!
