A Home-blend Shave

Lather: home blend soap, fragrance-free
Brush: JR 76 brush
Razor: Karve brass with B plate
Blade: Wizamet Super Iridium
After: home blend balm
Cold water shave

Today I was having fun using simple home-blended software. The soap is a simple melt-and-pour blend: shea butter soap, shaving soap base, glycerin, and kaolin clay. The balm is alcohol-free witch hazel, aloe vera gel, and glycerin.

I had a very pleasant smooth shave. My face feels great!

The Williams Mug Shaving Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #434 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the TiBr Wabbit 3D Razor with a Personna Injector Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Aqua Velva Musk AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

It’s a mild but very efficient razor - it’s made in China and very cheap. I bought a few of them and I gave them to my brother in law and my father in law.

This Gold Dachs Spezial is a very elegant soap from Germany that I bought a LONG time ago and like a dummy I’ve been ignoring it. It’s expensive, yes but it’s very much worth the price I paid for it because it’s so good. I love its classy old school scent, the lather is so THICK, rich, slick, as well as protective, and it has fantastic postshave care. The Fino balm is so soothing and moisturizing - it’s another South African treasure, and the Brut’s scent (to me!) is so nice. The new Shark blade helped me get a perfect three pass BBS shave!

DE SOTD, Wed, April 27th 2022

Razor : Razorock 2nd Gen Lupo.72-Mfg 2021> excellent mid range, excellent design for clamping, great for under the nose, just a easy razor to dial in. Excellent shaves with this Lupo.72 mostly & glad I bought one!
Blade : Gillette 7 0Clock SP, sharp & smoooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : Italian barber Amici, great citrus scent of grapefruit + excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi 26mm Rainbow brown whiskers, excellent lather generator, heavenly cloud like soft tips(luxury feel) nice gentle scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Italian barber Amici AS with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless)
Results : CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Excellent shave with my Lupo.72 with a Gillette 7oClock SP blade.
