    Menthol Monday:

I’m starting off April with one helluva Grand Freeze!

    L’Oréal Men Expert Facial Wash
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Super Speed/Wilkinson Sword day 12
    Captain Nemo Absolute Zero SS
Captain Nemo Absolute Zero AS Toner
    Fine Snake Bite AS Splash
    Bleu de Chanel Deodorant Stick
    Bleu de Chanel EdP

My dear brother Abir is another soap and aftershave genius - his Absolute Zero is something for the books. Not only is the scent very nice - it’s aquatic with minty notes. The soap is vegan based, it lathers like there’s no tomorrow, it takes a real hardcore menthol junkie like myself to be able to handle such an intense freeze because honestly this soap is colder than any of the Stirling Glacials, the Chiseled Face Cryogen, or any of my other hyper mentholated soaps, but it’s so skin friendly. The matching aftershave toner is another menthol atom bomb with the same nice scent as well as great moisturizing and lots of soothing. The Snake Bite aftershave splash brought the freeze to another level. Last but not least the gorgeous Bleu de Chanel fragrance and I’m good to go. What a dynamite three pass BBS shave this was - WOW!

Have a nice week ahead - be well and stay safe![IMG]

    Cold Water Rinse
    Fine Snake Bite Shave Soap
    Jayaruh 424 Synthetic
    Fatip Grande
    Gillette Silver Blue
    Osage Rub

The Fine Snake Bite Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh 424 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Fatip Grande Razor and a Gillette Silver Blue blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

This shave took lots of samples. Three packets of the T&H 1805 (very nice scent) were immediately absorbed into the brush and weren’t enough to produce a meaningful lather. Adding a packet of Sandalwood did the trick for a lovely shave with the Lund. :happy088:

EDIT: Hahaha - just noticed from the picture that the 1805 was an aftershave balm, no wonder it didn’t lather.

    Hot water preparation
    T&H 1805 and T&H Sandalwood
    Romera Wengue Chubby Manchurian Badger
    Lund 6/8
    Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel

    Happy shaving - Karl

Shave of the Week Starting 1 April 2024

    Parker Variant razor
    Laser Super Platinum blade
    Maggard Purple Swirl synthetic brush
    Yardley SS
    Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe
    Various A/S

Hope this is an April Fool's situation cuz this shave was not very satisfying. Well, everything worked ok except for the blade. First few strokes were not good but did smooth out but the results were, at best, just ok. Changing blades to Super Max for the rest of the week. I mean, it's only right that an Indian razor have Indian blades. Now go enjoy your day folks.

Razor : Gem G bar- Mfg 1955-58, mild to tame mid range. Interesting razor to work the face and results are great. The chrome finish is of high grade and has lasted a long time. This razor is built to last generations. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.

Soap : Razorock XXX Fresco, nice scented XXX clean unique scent with some menthol + excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Artic sky" 24mm synthetic. Excellent lather generator, heavenly cloud like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
