Wednesday morning’s Mega Grand Freeze:

L’Oreal Men Expert Facial Wash

There are Grand Freezes and there are Grand Freezes but this was a MEGA Grand Freeze - my God, this Absolute Zero soap is so frigid that it beats ALL of the Stirling Glacials and the Chiseled Face Cryogen in terms of menthol power although not by much. This soap, like all of Abir’s is vegan based, I love its aquatic/minty scent, it lathers to beat the band, and it gives such great skincare. The matching aftershave toner has the same awesome scent as well as the same insane menthol wallop as well as so much soothing and moisturizing while the Snake Bite went on with a HUGE menthol kick of its own. Last but not least a little Bleu de Chanel deodorant followed by the parfum and I smell fantastic. The Wilkinson Sword blade reached the end of the road but it gave me one last hoorah with a brilliant three pass BBS shave that I enjoyed immensely - also I finished off the Absolute Zero tub but I have two brand new backups!

Here my Wednesday Shave (17.04.2024)


Razor: Rockwell 6 S (Plate 4) // Blade: Gillette Platinum // Soap: SC Fortutude // Brush: PAV Brushworks „Chief“ // Aftershave: Alum - Thayers WH - Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve

Another sublime shave.

Rockwell 6S on plate 4 is wonderful to shave with. Very smooth, gentle and thoroughly.

I can not praise the Fortutude from Soap Commander high enough. A fantastic scent, which is calming for your should and brings the wariness to your heart. Amazing scent AND lather.

I could have stopped after 2 passes but the shave was so enjoyable that i did a 3rd pass. Just for the fun of it.

After rinsing my face i applied the Alum which had quite no stinging, than the Witch Hazel and the best for last: Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve…Pairs wonderful with the scent of the soap and my skin loves it.

10 out of 10? Hell yeah

Two passes and touch ups with the Bunny V3 Injector by Tom and a Personna Injector blade and the WILD guard gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Lustray Spice After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

1st shave since my chemoradiation treatment.. OMG, that was a real boost for me mentally.

 

DE SOTD, Wednesday, April 17 2024

Razor : Razorock 2nd Generation Lupo.72 316 SSP. Mfg 2021, mid range. Excellent machining and finish QC + excellent design for getting under the nose area. I find this razor checks all the boxes for my mature technique and final results needs. Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning.
Blade :Gillette 7oClock SP(2) sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : Yaqi Musketeer Rapier, nice unique scented soap(similar to Aramis classic) very addictive + excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Moka Express" 26mm 2band badger. Excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + great lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Yaqi Musketeer Rapier splash + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my RR Lupo.72 with a 7oClock SP blade.
