Lather Catcher Sunday's Cold Water Shave

    Cold Water Rinse
    Mitchell's Wool Fat Shaving Soap
    Jayaruh #437 Silvertip Badger
    Gem Jr. Lather Catcher
    Personna GEM SS PTFE
    CWR
    Lilac Vegetal

The Mitchell's Wool Fat Shaving Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #437 Silvertip Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gem Jr. Lather Catcher and the Personna GEM SS PTFE blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Lilac Vegetal After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Sunday morning:

Capra soap as a facial wash
    Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
    Super Speed/Wilkinson Sword day 11
    Noxzema Lather SC
    Prep ASB
    Floid Vigoroso AS Splash

As I’ve before many times - if the Noxzema Lather cream was still available I don’t think that I would be here because that’s the only stuff I used for so many years until it was discontinued. I scored a big bunch of them when it made a brief comeback in Italy some years ago but then it disappeared again. I absolutely LOVE its scent, the lather is such a delight, the menthol sensation is heavenly, and it makes my skin feel like it’s born again. The Prep and the Floid Vigoroso aftershave were a perfect finishing combo. Three passes gave me such a dynamite BBS shave that I thoroughly enjoyed!

Wishing you all a great Sunday - be well and stay safe![IMG]

Razor: Maggard V3A on MR11 handle
    Blade: Jifuli Platinum Edge
    Soap: Proraso Green
    A/S: Aqua Velva

I had a tuck of these baldes included with a recent Ali purchase, and decided to try them.

Even in a medium-aggressive V3A, the blade appeared to not be particularly sharp. But just a step shy of dull, not tuggy. At least on a morning stubble. Overall, an OK blade that produced BBS with a little extra cleanup, no irritation or cuts.

If it improves on 2nd shave, like some platinum blades do, it can be a good, if not great, blade. If the first shave is as good as it gets... well at least it's good for one shave.

Next time will try it in a more aggressive razor, like New LC.

SE Sunday shave, April 28th 2024

    Razor
: Yaqi Excalibur SE 50mm with a Yaqi Milano 316 SSP handle. Mfg 2021>, tame mid mid range. Simple blade clamping system with small head parts, I like to assemble on a wash cloth seems easier for myself. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade :Schick proline p30(2) sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : Razorock "The Dead Sea", nice fragranced soap + excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Sagrada Familia" 22mm 2band badger. Excellent lather generator, luxury pillow like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + great lather painter. Small handle but excellent knot makes for great shaving IMO.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock The Dead Sea splash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : Dial 9.5.jpg or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + 1 blemish weeper=[IMG] Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Excalibur 50mm with a Schick proline blade.
