DE SOTD, Thursday, April 4th 2024

Razor : Yaqi 2nd Generation Mellon razor head 316SSP + a Yaqi Chippendale 316SSP handle.- Mfg 2023>, tame mid range. Great double combed razor with excellent machining and finish QC. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Gillette Permasharp (2) sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : Yaqi "The Green" very nice fragranced nature type of scent that is addictive with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi " Dandelion" 24mm Cashmere synthetic. Excellent lather generator, luxury cloud like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Yaqi "The Green" with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Mellon head razor with a Permasharp razor blade.

Wonderful shave set up+1 on the Wilkinson sword classic razor...I've never seen the Fatip blades before.

 

Hi mein Freund, ja die Seife enthält Menthol. Ist aber nicht so stark wie zum Beispiel bei der Proraso grün. Man merkt das Menthol aber dennoch recht gut. Fühlt sich sehr angenehm an auf der Haut.

I usually wait a couple of days between shaves but wanted to be smooth tomorrow. So, this was a good time to break out one of my smaller razors. The backstory starts with a tip from @Steve56 about a set of Lunds on a BIN on eBay. I jumped on it but hadn’t read the description closely enough to realize these are what one artisan razor provider describes as “midi.” No worries, they make a welcome addition to my den and are a nice change of pace every now and then - like today.

OK, backstory over. The Wednesday Lund was simply a fine shave, light and easy

Oh, and I did it again. I mistakenly tried to lather up the after shave balm. Fortunately this time I realized it right away and swapped in the shaving cream.

These Wilkinson Sword blades are fantastic - they’re very sharp yet very smooth and they have excellent longevity which is important because I have a really tough beard. I started a brand new tub of the Klipspringer soap today - it’s glycerine based with a lovely coffee/peppermint scent, does it ever lather like a son of a gun, it’s got a nice menthol sensation, and it gives a very comfortable postshave feeling which the Prep really enhances. Finally the Aqua Velva Sport aftershave went on icy cold along with its delightful scent. Three glorious passes gave me a brilliant BBS shave that was so much fun!

This was my fifth shave with the Fatip Grande this week. This razor came to me from the den of Bama Samurai (Chris Massey) who passed away last month.

The Arko Shave Stick lathered well with the Jayaruh 424 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and no touch ups with the Fatip Grande Razor and a Gillette Silver Blue blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Lilac Vegetal. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
