I guess great minds think alike!
The wife has been using my supply of Cremo since I slowed down using it on the lather DE / SE train.
I figured the more I can engage her, the better the chance she will be more tolerant of those funny little shipping boxes I keep getting delivered!

love it, the veg and arko! i admire your descipline stick to the same soap and a.s. for long periods of time. i am only 9 months into this craze and have enough products for 20 years? I Hope to get the discipline to stick to a product for extended stretches

Great photo. Love the blue Brut bottle and that Alpha looks nice. I thought we'd see more back in stock by now. I really would like to see more reviews of this razor.

    THURSDAY SHAVE
    20170428_225605.jpg

    Prep: Occams Crushed Lime
    Razor: Gillette Redtip
    Blade: Gillette Black
    Brush: Razorock BC Plissoft
    Soap: Mike's Coconut
    Post: Stirling MITA Balm

Very nice lather from the Mike's. Decided to try a drier lather than normal and couldn't tell if it made a difference or not. But did get a decent shave.

    FRIDAY SHAVE
    20170428_225457.jpg

    Prep: Musgo Real Orange Amber
    Razor: Gillette Ball End Tech
    Blade: Gillette Black
    Brush: Maggard 26mm synthetic

    Soap: Mickey Lee Druken Goat
    Post: Ogallala Bay Rum A/S

Had a marvelous shave this evening. The last few shaves I was in a hurry and did not take my time to chill and do things right. Today the lather seemed super protective and the scent of drunken Goat is not something I liked at first, but the scent was a nice change of pace. Finished off with some Ogalla without any burning or negative side effects. Hope everyone had a great shave!

    Arko Adjustable April!!!!!

    April 28

    Razor - 1959 (E4) Gillette Fatboy (6)
    Blade - [IMG] (3)
    Soap - Arko
    Brush - Jayaruh #46
    Post - Alum

Another night with the Fatboy and Sharp Star and another very nice near-BBS result. Smooth as melted butter, nice and cool alum, not a care or a problem in the world with this shave. The only thing I can say that is a negative about this shave is the slightly dry feeling the Arko leaves behind but I threw a touch of Nivea on after I was done and that took care of that. Nice and relaxing shave. I think for the final two shaves of April I'll go back to the Consul with a Russian blade of some sort.

"Matthew" cleaned up nicely last night for the first go around with the soap and brush. When I took the blade out yesterday I took a good picture of it along with the baseplate and cap. I'm dating the razor not only by its patent and other records but by the blade too. The New Deluxe hails from around 1934 or so and the Marlin blade can be put at the same time. Yeah, I know they had a larger range, but I also have other reasons to date it in the mid '30s. More on that later. Kind of amazing that this razor has been spirited about for 80 years without being used once. And it's getting ready for its reintroduction.

The best made plans of mice and men, often are changed at the ninth hour.
I had planned to shave with a straight razor, long slow leisurely removing of my facial crop.
But I blew that off in favor of getting up early and treasure hunting the Florida beaches.
So instead, I made a Parker shave using the variant(set on 3.5, and a second use persona Crystal) and my Parker silvertip. I used bombed route66 cranberry citrus, followed by pinaud lime sec.
I'm smooth as glass and feeling really comfy. Ready to go to bed, dreaming of golden riches plundered from the best beaches in the world. Wish me luck.
Hope y'all did as well, or better. Sorry no pic tonight.

Old spice, two bands badger in olive tree centenary Proyet, Koraat 8/8 R & P, Myrsol antesol. I was able to shave again with a straigth razor and not too late or lazy to release the Koraat, besides being beautiful, with a good weight and sharp edge, took the hair for 3 days without any consideration. Excellent shave.
