Sunday, back to a DE It may have been as much as 2 months since I used a DE; it's been all SE and injectors with one cartridge shave thrown in. So today, it was time to rotate back for a while. Schick Krona S2 Gillette Spoiler blade (1972) VdH boar brush D.R. Harris Shave stick What a great shave from that 38 year old blade!

Sunday: Omega Wooden Handle Super Speed/Elios day 2 Barbon-SC :love008 :happy108 Lubriderm unscented moisturizer Mennen Skin Bracer Original-AS :love008 :happy108 I'm in love with this Barbon cream, Super Speed, and aftershave. What a wonderful trio, and what a wonderful shave. Although Aqua Velva is good stuff, in my honest opinion, you cannot beat Mennen Skin Bracer, in terms of scent and cooling effect.

The W&S balm was one I haven't used in some time--I must use it more often. It has just a touch of menthol which, for me, makes it a very nice finish.

Sunday, April 11, 2010 Razor: Gillette New Blade: Gillette Permasharp (Green) Brush: Vie-Long 16510 White Badger Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime Cream: Proraso A/S: Alt Innsbruck I have not used the Gillette New for awhile so I decided to dust it off and take it for a spin. Paired with a Gillette Green, the New effortlessly eliminated my stubble leaving me with an irritation free BBS shave. I continue to put the Vie-Long through its paces and it is definitely a first rate cream brush...very nice. The Alt Innsbruck was the perfect compliment to the menthol in the Proraso.
Oufffffff, Alt Innsbruck......Phil, I swear in God, after my shave was completed, and I had put on the Mennen Skin Bracer, I saw my bottle of Alt Innsbruck looking at me on the shelf, like it was saying, "Jeff, use me today!" I will do that tomorrow, because I am doing a Super-Menthol Extravaganza! :happy102
OH NO! Now you're cooking up some home Mentholated Bay Rum! Bob, I think you have gone over the edge and are becoming a "Menthol Head". It's time for an intervention...I'm going to contact your Dad and Brother..you must be saved or you will get as addicted as Jeff! :happy102
Bob, he is correct, and having successfully completed the TSD Menthol Intervention course that all of us Mods must take, I know just what to do, so follow my instructions very closely. 1.) Place every, and I mean EVERY mentholated shave supply you have carefully inside of a box with plenty of padding, then tape it closed. 2.) I will send you a PM with an address to mail it to in Illinois, where I can dispose of it properly. Of course postage will be on your dime, since I am doing this for YOU! 3.) Ignore any attempt by Jason (Baloosh) , to interrupt this process, since he failed the course miserably. (The menthol fumes went to his head during the menthol resistance training part of the course, and he cannot be trusted now when it comes to menthol. Especially JoAnna's ISZ.) It will be tough Bob, but by following my instructions to the letter, we can work through this tough time together. :happy088
I just looked up that address Bill gave you Bob and the postage shouldn't be too much. It's about 60 miles south of Chicago, Illinois.
SOTD Sunday April 11, 2010 1890's Theme Shave this morning. Razor: Slack & Grinold - Bath Works Sheffield Circa 1892 Soap/Mug: Mitchell's Wool Fat - 1893 Formula Brush: Col Conk Barbershop Badger ASB: Dickinson's Witch Hazel - circa Cambrian era Aftershave: Lustray (Pinaud/Clubman) Coachman - circa 1890's Awesome shave this morning! First shave with the S & G was outstanding! Thanks Chris! (Alabamalawyer) The professionally honed edge on this beautiful razor was so smooth I didn't know I was shaving. Quite a difference from MY HONING that got a "shavable" edge but left a lot to be desired. It's good to discover that it wasn't so much my shaving techniques that sucked but my honing skills that are deficient. Looks like I will be sending my "Antique Store finds" out to get a professional edge put on them for sure!
lmao:happy102 I already told my wife that if she chooses to have me buried to pack my coffin full of menthol crystals It is true, I do love the menthol but I have a long row to hoe before I can keep up with Jeff. I am but a menthol user, he is Keith Richards when it comes to menthol. *bows to Jeff*
