    April 10, 2015
Prep: Hot Shower. Axe Shield Face Wash
    Razor: Maggard MR5
    Blade: Ladas
    Brush: Omega S10018
Lather: Catie’s Bubbles LMR (Le Marche du Rasage)
    Post: Alum. Thayers Cucumber WH.
    Aftershave: PAA ClubGuy
Three new products. Maggard MR5, pleasantly surprised of the quality and shave. Omega S10018, while it won't replace the Plisson it sure has earned a spot in my rotation, even at $8.75. Caties Bubbles LMR, fresh, clean, powdery goodness! Other scents are going on, I just can't describe them. Awesome. I had a fantastic shave.
    Go out and get it

    Chiseled Rhapsody
Since this has become my favorite soap, I am trying out scent combinations with aftershaves to see what besides Cologne Russe matches up. I’m doing this so that I don’t just use Russe every single day, which I easily could, and ignore my other aftershaves. Today I tried Chiseled Face Sherlock, since it has a sweet opening note. I think this combination works pretty well. My face feels smooth and comfortable, and I like the leathery dry down of Sherlock.
I used a bit too much water this time, so the lather was not as luxurious as before, but the shave was still very good. No weepers or irritation, though the Sherlock did slap me a bit when first applied.

    Prep: Warm water rinse
    Soap: B&M Rhapsody
    Brush: Brothers Bristles Beast Plisson
    Razor: der Vorschlaghammer
    Blade: Voskhod (1)
    AS: Chiseled Face Sherlock

    Frey's Day:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Soap: Stirling Bay Rum
    Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (3)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG (7, 8, 9)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, Captain's Choice Cat o' Nine Tails AS splash
Cologne: Gigember Estragone by Dr. Vranjes

I woke up Thursday with no actual need to shave due to how close Wednesday's results were, so today became 'Friday, cleverly disguised as Thursday' when it came to my shaving gear. I actually got good lather from the Stirling, guys! I bowl-lathered with that specific hope, rather than my typical face-lathering, but at least it worked. The Bamboozled RAKE continues to impress me with close, comfortable shaves that border on BBS; I got a small weeper on my throat during the 3rd pass, but a shaky hand was to blame there.

Short and sweet...had a wonderful BBS shave this morning. The Razorock XXX was nice and slick and the Barbasol AS had sufficiently frozen my face. I'm a happy camper! Now back to the salt mines.

They do! They reworked the post so the blade is tighter, I had no issues at all. Highly recommend Maggard razors.

Another shave from Paradise - now I'm 100% convinced that the Cryogen soap is the coldest item known to mankind. Here is how I believe it compares to my Glacials and the Yeti Snot in menthol strength:

    Yeti Snot: 93% (bitter-cold)

Glacials: 95% (approaching the danger level, but still considered safe)

    Cryogen: 97% (STOP RIGHT THERE!)

It's not humanely possible for anything mentholated to be stronger because the sensation could put someone in the hospital. It could literally cause freezer burn.

    Brush - VDH Boar
    Soap - Proraso
    Razor - EJ89l
    Blade - [IMG] (5)
Post - Alum and A/V Musk

Checked out the damage today and thought it prudent for another day or two of healing before resuming the CJB. Yep, that cut was a bit deep. Went to my EJ89 with the fabulous if hard to find Sharp Star on its fifth shave. BBS in three passes, still performing like a champ. Very little burn from the alum. A day closer to returning to the CJB. I'll just start assembling the things necessary now.

    FRIDAY
Used the last of my Stirling 'Glacial Obsidian' this shave; extreme menthol chill, despite being cut with the Cade. It is (was) probably my favorite flavor of the Stirling line.
Very close shave this morn with the scimitar-styled Joseph Rodgers!
    Have a blessed Friday, everyone!

image.jpg Razor: Gillette New SC Red & Black set 1930s
Brush: Vintage Every-Ready 300L with TGN Silvertip 18/51
Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue
Cream: Castle Forbes cedarwood & sandalwood cream
    Blade: Feather (2)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Balm, Pinaud Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum
First shave for me with the Gillette New SC, and going in I will take it slow. Loaded a Feather blade, and checked the alignment. The little silvertip brush whipped up a thick warm lather in the OS Mug. Very close two pass shave with some touchup. More aggressive than the LC so I had to pay close attention. Warm water rinse and pat dry. Some WH and after cleanup some JB Balm. Then some nice Bay Rum. Nice razor, great feedback and I can get into some spots on my neck with only a little buffing. I'm glad I got both the SC and LC, as I like the large heavy handle, and they clean up easier than my adjustables. Thanks to all of your SOTD pictures and comments, I landed 2 very nice razors. I can breath easy for the start of the weekend, right Faith Carlos?

Prep: Hot shower with Nivea Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: Cobra Classic, Wade and Butcher Bow straight razor
    Blade: Feather Pro Light (3)
    Brush: Vie Long Horse Hair
    Soap: HTGAM - Gondolier
    After: Home made ASB
Cologne: Prada - Amber Pour Homme

A good Friday shave. The Vie Long brush whipped the Gondolier into a great warm lather. The Bow and the Cobra had no trouble knocking down the stubble. The Prada will have me smelling great all day. All in all it was an easy Darn Fine Shave.

    Have a blessed day!

Last nights shave was interesting, it was so smooth and comfortable as I was shaving I wondered if I was getting close enough.
Well, when all was said and done I had a DFS that was extremely comfortable. So here is last nights line up.

    Lord L6 razor
Kiss my face key lime cream
Bass brush- (a cheapie from the hippie store- it says natural bristle- it's boar I think).
Baili super stainless platinum blade (2)
    Jeris Musk aftershave.

I've been pleasantly surprised by the performance of the baili blade. It was smoother on the second shave than it was on the first.
