Future shaves will tell, but really, this one was close enough to the Swede sensation that I am almost convinced it's the truth.

Warm then cold rinse No Thayer's today 4711 A/S THEN I showered. If you like the sound of hairzapoppin when you shave, try this. First pass on a beard that's barely wet, and certainly not SOFT, sounds like you're shaving sandpaper! It was an experiment - and for me, a successful one! Today was one of the best shaves I've had since November when I picked up a DE for the first time in many years. Absolutely BBS with no irritation whatsoever. For some reason, I've always preferred to shave first, then shower. However, since conventional wisdom says that's backwards, I've been showering first of late. Just seems wrong though, so now, it looks like I'm going back.
Fergie, I shave before shower too however I just do the shave, no post shave routine until I get out of the shower. Every time I shower first then shave, I seem to get more irritation. I think the hot shower dries my face out.
I have tried the shave before a shower, and got messed up bad a couple times......but found that If give a good hot-towel treatment for a solid 5 minutes, its all good. (Heck, you could even skip the shower on a day like that- Just slather some velva all around and bounce :happy001)
No matter how hard I try I can't do the HT right. Guess I have a bad technique. I have to shower before work now a days................not on a ship anymore:rofl
