    Brut Cologne

Oh yeah, I'm a Stirling soap lover and proud to be one. The Frozen Tundra has become one of my top favourites - the scent is so unique and beautiful, the lather is a pleasure to work with, and it has a menthol wallop which is just a notch under the Glacials in freezing power. Whenever I finish a shave with this soap, not only does my skin feel frozen, it also feels like it's born again. The Rubby Dubby Doo's iciness cannot be denied either - it's so potent and very long-lasting. These Personna blades are awesome and I want some more of them. ;) :D

    This morning's shave 8-11-15:
Hot Shower prep with Neutrogena for Men Invigorating Face Wash and for Art of Shaving Sandalwood for the other areas
Razor - Gillette Ball End Tech circa 1946 - 49'
    Blade - Voskhod (5)
    Brush - Parker Best Badger
Soap - Stirling Soap Company - Ozark Mountain
    Bowl - Fine Lather
Warm rinse, alum block then cool rinse
Finished up with Witch Hazel and RazoRock Problem Solver Lime AS Splash

I am well pleased with my first shave with the Stirling Ozark Mountain. Great combination of cedar and pine scents. Reminds me of camping in the fall. It may take a few shaves to get the right amount of water. Seemed a little thin but it still provided the needed slickness and protection for two pass shave for a great work day shave.

    Wednesday's
    ZCOLDWATER1.jpg

    Dove Men Face Wash
    Col. Conk Lime Shave Soap
    Jayaruh #1 Silver Tip
    Gem Featherweight
    Treet Super SE
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Pinaud Clubman

The Col. Conk Lime Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #1 Silver Tip brush. Two passes with my Gem Jr Parade razor and a Treet Super SE blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

My shave today after a hot shower.

    Pre-Shave: Proraso Green Cream
    Shaving Cream: Green Proraso
    Razor:1953 Gillette Super Speed
    Blade: Gillette Sliver Blue
Brush: Van Der Hagen Badger (New brush coming in the mail)
    After Shave: Green Proraso
    Nicks: Green Proraso

I have been using this razor/blade combo for three days so far and it's been the most comfortable and closes shave I have had in my life. Im a big fan of the Proraso product line and will continue to use there products. I like the Silver Blue over the Astra Platinum blades I have been using (they are good blades)but it makes since to me use a Gillette blade in a Gillette razor.

    August Focus

    1958 Executive razor

I've worked my way through the settings on my Exec. Tried 9 this morning and, while the shave was very close, it was not an enjoyable process because I felt the need to use extreme caution. So Wednesday, I'm going back to 6 and working on technique. Going to use Stirling's Sharp Dressed Man and a WD silvertip. Happy shaving!

August Focus - Slim and Feather AC
    August 11
    Razor - 1964 Gillette Slim (J1)
    Blade - feather-yellow-box.jpg (3)
    Brush - Omega 12601
    Soap - Mitchell's Wool Fat
Post - Cold Rinse, Alum, The Veg

After a day off for injury it's time to get back at it. The cut and nick look much better so let's load up the Feather in the Slim at 3. Last time with the Slim at 1 it was a less than great shave. Just not enough gap to work with even for the Japanese killer. So it's up to 3 and of we go. I chose the pony again and got a magnificent lather from the MWF. I'm really starting to like the horse brushes. I've always preferred boar, but the horses are catching up fast. The extra scritch from the 65% tail hair is awesome. There is a brush with a 25/75 mix that I have on my radar. I'm sure it will be in the stable soon.

Went after the first pass and immediately noticed a difference between the settings. This setup really got a great first pass. Very smooth, great feedback, though the two day growth helped. No cuts, issues at all. Second XTG did open a slight weeper on the cut but that sealed up right away. Went XTG on the neck as well and rinsed and reset for the third pass. Decided to go full third pass with some ATG. My face went BBS. Neck finished a a near BBS after just a bit of G-sliding to work a couple of areas down as normal. Great shave. Maybe the best I've had with a Feather. But...irritation? The alum says NO! No irritation beyond a slight sting on my neck. Very slight. Beautiful finish, applied the Veg and off to the Doctor's to make sure my heart is still beating. Home again to get ready to grill....it was Porterhouses and grilled corn tonight followed by watermelon. Life is good.

I went back and forth on those two blades and finally ended up buying 100 Personna blues because of a great deal. They work equally good for me, except both are poor performers in my FB for some reason.
