    MONDAY
    Menthol Monday

Added a bit of chill to my routine with some TSD IcedSubZero pre-shave balm and a healthy dose of TSD M-Bomb to the MdC soap.
Same great scent and slickness with the MdC, but with a cooling tingle that I found very refreshing!
The Böker performed as usual—flawless—for a great start of the day…

    Have a wonderful Monday, all!

    Monday

    Prep: CeraVe facial cleanser
    Soap: Mike's natural, unscented
Brush: Mühle VIVO black fiber synthetic
    Razor: Merkur Progress
    Blade: Personna med prep
    After: Cold rinse, CeraVe lotion

I haven't used the Merkur Progress in 6 months, so I thought it was time to bring it out. Quite a different experience from the ShaveCraft that I have been using most days this year. The Progress is hefty with a significant proportion of the weight in the head, the preferred angle is different, and there is more audible feedback from the blade as it cuts hairs. I got a decent enough shave, but I think I need to use it more often so there is not such a learning curve each time I pick it up.

SOTD Monday 8-11-2014 It's good to be home shave!

    Erasmic SC
    Georgetown Scuttle
    Semogue 820 Boar
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Gold Bond Moisturizing Lotion
    Florida Water Cologne

After 10 days on the road and shaving in hotel mirrors, it is a real treat to get a normal morning shave in a mirror I can actually see my beard instead of guessing. I stropped the Torrey I had with me on the road and used it to check the edge. Still keen and delivering a close shave after a good stropping.
It was a real treat to meet up with Guy (Ram57) and spend a couple of hours talking about "Life, the Universe and Everything" (to steal a Douglas Adams Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy phrase.) Guy is a great and super nice person and we shared a lot of memories of the places where we lived. It is amazing how many places where we both have lived and the numerous things we have in common. It was great to actually meet face to face with someone that I have been talking to and following every morning on the forum. Definately a high point of my trip!

Monday Aug 11, 2014 early AM shave:

    Warm Shower
    Simpson 46B
Locally made shave soap from the local farmers market.
    Warm shave mug
    Gillette Ball End Tech
    Astra SP
Lucky Tiger AS and Face Balm
    Pinaud Clubman

The lather was a little weak from the new shave soap, first time around with this hard soap. Overall it was a good two pass DFS shave this morning.

    Brush: Gary's Finest Badger
    Lather: VDH Luxury
    Post: Maggard Razors Alum
    Aftershave: Barbasol Pacific Rush

Shouldn't have shaved today. I did two passes. Where I messed up was the first pass, first initial stroke, first initial impulse to shave. Other than the horrid irritation, razor burn, and how I should have used a new blade... It was a great shave.

Youre using a carbon steel blade. I only get one shave out of those. With the GEM stainless blades you will get 7+ easy.

    Cold Water Shave

    Dove Men's Face Wash
    TOBS Lavender Shaving Cream
    Semogue 1305 Boar Brush
    Schick Eversharp I2 Hydro-Magic
    Schick Stainless
    CWR
    Thayers Rose Petal WH
    Pinaud Clubman AS

Today, I continue to shave completely with cold water again. The TOBS Lavender Shaving Cream face-lathered very easily with my Semogue 1305 Boar brush. Two passes with my Schick Eversharp I2 Hydro-Magic and a Schick Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. I had lots of lather left over. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed... What a nice shave! I'm liking this cold water shaving.

    Tuesday Morning Shave
    Razor:
    Gillette Fat Boy (S3)
    Blade: ASCO (1)
    Brush: Vie-Long White Horse Hair
    Soap: Derby
    AS: Barbon

2 days growth beard gone in 2 passes very easily with BBS result. Although I'm extremely happy with Asco blades (on EJ DE89 and Wilkinson Sword Classic) For the first time I felt tugging in my neck. Maybe I need more practice on gillette fat boy.
    Have a great day folks!
