    Slanted Tabac Tuesday
Today, after spending five hours cleaning my flooded basement, I was happily surprised in the mail by an iKon Slant head (not DLC) from a generous pass around. First impression: this is a heavy one! It also felt mild on my face, but it effectively cut my stubble. I got a few weepers, but I have not used any slant in a very long time, so it will take a bit to learn this one. I did my usual three passes, and the ATG seemed the most dicey. Post shave, my skin feels smooth and a little tender. Not a bad shave by any stretch.

Prep: cold shower (no choice - water heater flooded), RR/HTGAM lime menthol
    Soap: Tabac!
    Brush: Plisson Synthetic
    Razor: iKon Slant
    Blade: Personna lab blue
AS: HTGAM Bay Rum Tonic, Frost_Byte Lotion

    Happy Birthday Joe!

The Gillette Khaki Set was produced for the soldiers during WWI (1917-1919)(Gillette was contacted by the government). This set was the civilian set, noted by the 'Made in USA' as opposed to 'Property of US Army '(more than likely post-war until wares ran out.

Anybody have info on civilian issued sets?[IMG]

    Cold Water Shave

    Dove Men's Face Wash
    Cella Crema da Barba
    Semogue 1305 Boar Brush
    Schick Eversharp I2 Hydro-Magic
    Schick Stainless
    CWR
    Thayers Rose Petal WH
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue

Today, I continue to shave completely with cold water again. The Cella Crema da Barba face-lathered very easily with my Semogue 1305 Boar brush. Two passes with my Schick Eversharp I2 Hydro-Magic and a Schick Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Aqua Velva Ice Blue after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed... What a nice shave! I'm liking this cold water shaving.

How does that Quattro soap perform, by the way?

Better than many low priced soaps but not as good as say HTGAM. About on par with Vintage Williams or VDH Luxury. So far I like it better than the Vermont Country I am also trying, but that is for another discussion.

    WEDNESDAY
    Evening Shave for Tomorrow

I was able to hone my recently restored George Wostenholm IXL and take it for my first shave tonight.
The razor was a bit of a bear taking the initial bevel, but the subsequent strokes on the honing stones went without issue. Finished on a C12k & pasted bench strop. A nice keen edge!
I lathered up with L'Occitane Cade soap and had a very smooth 3 pass shave. Finished with a refreshing splash of my Bay Rum. :) Great shave! Off to bed for an early start in the a.m.!

    Have a wonderful Wednesday, everyone!

    Wednesday Morning Shave
    Razor:
    Gillette Fat Boy (S2&3)
    Blade: ASCO (2)
    Brush: Isana Men Pure Badger
Soap: Arko with 2 drops of Eucalyptus,Mint and Bergamot Essential Oils
    AS: Barbasol

Wow, 15 minutes passed after this morning's shave but I can still feel the menthol strongly :) Arko let me make an enormous amount of lather. Although this is my 2nd shave with FB, I understood that it is a good daily shaver for me. No nicks, weeper or irritation.

I owe my love for these Stirling soaps to my dear friend Ryan, because it was he who introduced me to them. The MITA lathered so richly as it always does and gave me such a nice menthol kick with great skincare. The 444 balm moisturized and added lots of extra cooling, and I cannot stop raving about the Glacial Wintergreen witch hazel - what a terrific face-freezer it is. BBS in two easy passes. ;) :D

Prep: Hot Shower-Stirling Cocoa Butter Bath Soap
    Soap: Maggard Fougere Sauvage
Razor: Gillette Super Speed Red Tip
    Blade: Gillette Platinum (5)
    Brush: oscar11 TGN 2-Band Finest-24mmx50mm
    Aftershave: Fine Platinum

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angles for my beard)

Maggard Fougere Sauvage. Great performing soap, but the scent is too subdued for me. It won’t replace the Bergamot & Limes. The Red Tip and Platinum are chugging along just fine. Great smooth, close, nick free shave. I finished with Fine Platinum.

    today's shave
hot water wash with nivea men's
    pur-tech synthetic
    Proraso blue
    Gillette slim(I1)(7)
    voskhod(3)
    pinaud clubman
today's shave was abit clumsy. can't quite hone in on the amount of water a synthetic brush needs to make good lather. seems I'm getting too much. yesterday's razor left me smoother than I'm used to. my shave this morning left me with a weeper on my neck. but it's all good, witch hazel with tea tree oil, made it go away. finished with clubman for a very close if not so comfortable shave.
    hope y'all have a good day 20140813_073250.jpg
