That's how I did it too when I first started. I still do it like that because on some parts of my face, the stubble grows in weird directions. I haven't gotten the hang of shaving all different directions and hold the razor differently to get those spots.

Sheer perfection. BBS, this razor has kicked all others out of my rotation, feather blade is day 2 and is frighteningly smooth compared to how it can be in my Mergress.

Two passes and a touch-up make for a fine shave. Lots of lather with the VDH Luxury soap, but I wish it were more slick. If I had some glycerin, I would add it to the soap.

After tweaking the edge on this razor a little with my barbers hone, it shaved even better than the last time. I think I got the honing done well on this one. It will go to my co-worker Tuesday and hopefully he will not get cold feet. Hoping he will be a str8 shaver for life. Just won 3 vintage strops on the bay and one will probably go with the razor to him. Not too fond of the smell of Proraso. Maybe I will throw that in too.

After the bloodbath of the shavette shave yesterday, I thought I was gonna skip today, however, my addiction made me do it. I went back to the basics today and although I knocked the scabs off of my battle wounds from yesterday I got a great BBS shave. I'm gonna say that I don't think I'm a huge fan of the Gillette Intense Cooling Lotion, I love the feel when it goes on, but the moisturizing properties just aren't there. I find myself feeling the need to put more on after a while. A problem I didn't have with the Nivea Sensitive balm. I need to get more of that. Popped in a new Derby blade today. I have no problems with Derby. They're quite nice. Finally, on with the Pinaud Clubman. I tell you I get more compliments with clubman than with any other cologne I've ever used. (No, not all compliments where from women from the t-rex days)

Prep: BC PSO: TX Cedar-Hot Shower
    Soap: Irish Moos Sample
    Razor: Maggard MR1
Blade: Gillette 7 O’Clock Blue SP
    Brush: Omega 10066 Boar

    Aftershave: Capt.’s Choice-Bay Rum

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angle for my beard a bit)

This was the 4th day with the Gillette 7 O’Clock Blue SP’s. I was anxious to try the discontinued Irish Moos soap. It lathered and cushioned well. A good close shave with 2 small nicks on the Adam’s Apple and some very mild burn. I finished with the Captains Choice Bay Rum sample. The CC Bay Rum is nice, but not overpowering. It left my face in great shape.

I had a last minute change of heart this morning because I'm not ready yet to finish off my Palmolive Cool cream. I have a brand-new Italian version of this cream still in the box, but you know how it is when you love something - you're never ready to give it up. The older version of Proraso Green cream to me anyway, is not as cold as the newer one but it still gives a pretty good menthol kick and the lather is still abundant and stable. My wife is not crazy about the Iced Lime aftershave, but I love it. My Dovo made me mega-BBS this morning. I should use this Omega Metal Handle brush more often, because it needs some proper breaking in. ;) :D

Great shave, I love the Proraso creams. I put an almond size dab on my fingers then spread across my face and proceed to face lather. The brush feels great while I'm lathering and I have plenty of lather left after the 3rd pass.

Post: Cold water splash, Dickinson's WH, Aveeno Active Naturals ASB
Cologne: Pegasus by Parfums de Marly

Prior to this morning, I was perfectly ready to declare the Trig/Treet razors the best suited to my face and current setup. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a new champion rises. As smooth, close, and comfortable as the Trig was for me, the Bolzano blew it away. BBS shave with no irritation - one minor weeper at the corner of my mouth where the comfort of the blade temporarily lulled me - and I swear my face practically feels better after the shave than it did before.

I am seriously smooth; now off to the range to put the fear of God into some paper targets.

Love this Gardette! It's vintage from the 20's, it's rare (I only know of one other like this) it's aggressive but it provides an awesome close and comfortable shave.
The RoB SC and ASL provides a creamy lather and a fitting finish scent. Very nice!
