    • Prep: Hot shower, California Baby face wash, hand strop blade
    • Lather: Real Shaving Co. Sensitive
    • Brush: Frank Shaving Fine Badger
    • Razor: Gem 1912
    • Blade: Walgreen's Gem (5), 2 passes
    • Post: WH, Aqua-Velva Ice Blue, hand strop blade
    • Cold water shave
Re-visiting the 1912 for the first time in about a month. I can definitely tell that my SE technique has improved. I got a much better shave with the 1912 than I have in the past. It still isn't my favorite shave. I think the handles are a bit too short for my liking, which could explain my love for the micromatics. Though the featherweight with it's short handle still gives me a better shave than the 1912.

Awesome! I've been looking for one of those too. All antique keys come with a $10-15 price tag which is ridiculous. $1 I can handle!

The Tabac SC works good for you - I am happy, because for me it is not too good. For me, the Tabac stick or bowl is better, and it gives me great shaving pleasure! ;)

Tabac the stick is next in 'must have' list! I'll get it right after I finish the tube you gave me :) Thanks again, Jeff!

    Haven't I sent you one? I thought I had.

    Today's shave:
Shea by Nature Juniper oil as pre
    Frank Shaving finest
    Plamolive stick
    Apollo OC with swedish Gillette
    Alcream ASC

My performance with the Apollo got better but the results are after three passes not as good as with the KAI Captain after two passes.

    Thursday's Shave:

    • Gillette Red Tip
    • Voskhod
    • VDH boar
    • Trumpers Lime SC/Old Spice Lime SC
    • WH
    • Trumpers Limes Skin Food

Started out with the Trumpers SC, it was a sample that was a bit old. Had dried out to a very "tacky" texture, and did really make a great lather. Lots of it, but not very slick. Had to change up after the first pass.
