Amazing shave today. VDH FTW. I just can't get over the moisturizing effects of VDH. Best soap around. The Derby blade is definitely a high performer too. I think this blade goes really well with my 23C. Had no problems taking on my 2 day growth. Again, while the Gillette cooling lotion is an okay performer, it's no match for Nivea Post Shave Balm which I'm still waiting on my local Walmart to replenish their stock. BBS shave of the day. I just seen its menthol week. Definitely participating. I love the ol face freeze. I've got a subzero sure fire face freezer in store for tomorrow. Have a great day

Today was the first day of class for me. I made sure I got the best, most efficient shave I could.

Prep: hot shower, TBS Face Wash, Alba Botanical Scrub.
    Brush: Vulfix Burlington.
    Razor: Schick Krona.
    Blade: Viking Sword (first use.)
    Cream: Palmolive Menthol.
Post: cold water rinse, Thayer's Lavender WH, Krampert's Frostbite.

Guys, I have nothing bad to say about today's shave. I used all of my favorite products with a new addition. The Viking Sword blade left a good first impression on my face. It was smooth, sharp, and easy on my skin. I always test out new blades in either my Tech or Krona. I got a DFS in two and a half passes with little effort. I love Palmolive Menthol. It's my absolute favorite cream. My Krampert's Frostbite has taken center stage and has even edged out my beloved Barbon AS. Someone hide the Frostbite from me so I can use other AS Splashes.

Back to the Gem 1912 today. I feel that my technique is steadily getting better, but the big giant head of this razor still makes it a little uncomfortable for me. I'll be using this for a while to get the technique down, in the mean time I'll just have to do my best.

I broke out my sample of Truefitt & Hill Ultimate Comfort shave cream along with my Muhle/TGN synthetic brush. I have wanted to try some T&H cream for a while now, but the high price has kept me away. I'm hoping that the samples of Ultimate Comfort and Lavender that I snagged from The Box will help me to decide if T&H is really worth the expense.

I did a three pass wtg/atg/xtg shave followed by a cold water rinse and some SAL Alum. I managed a DFS with only mild irritation and no nicks. The razor was about as maneuverable as a drunk hippo on roller skates, but with a little work I managed all of the angles. I am getting a better feel for setting up the proper positioning of the head in relation to my skin. The T&H cream smells a little medicinal, but isn't too bad scent wise. With that being said, this is an amazing cream. It was a bit thirsty, but it also provided an amazingly slick surface (the term "slick as snail snot" came to mind). There was also plenty of protection and it left my face crazy soft. I really like this cream...now I just have to decide between Ultimate Comfort, Rose, and West Indian Limes.

Pre: Hot shower and warm water splash
    Razor: Gem 1912
    Blade: Gem stainless steel
    Brush: Muhle/TGN synthetic
Soap: Truefitt & Hill Ultimate Comfort
Post: Cold water rinse and SAL Alum

Tried something new today. I left the Noxzema on my beard area while I made my lather. It made a difference in the experience, so, I will be doing this again. Also, I have been palm stropping the blade after each shave for a few days. I think that this is helping some, too. Excellent, smooth shave today. Happy, happy, happy...

I loved everything about this shave.

The Treets are as smooth as anything I've shaved with. This was my second shave on this blade and it was wonderful.

The fresh clean scent involved are all very soapy and clean smelling. Face feels smooth, comfortable and smells like a nice clean old dude! Which I am!

No photos today, but an awesome shave. My #6 horsehair brush really works great at lathering soaps, and let me also say that it's great with creams also. This Tryphon Mentolo soap smells so nice and it has strong menthol power. The Gillette balsam and the Penguin are darn frigid. ;) :D

Prep: BC PSO: Peppermint, Tea Tree, Lavender-Hot Shower
Soap: Stirling Margaritas in the Arctic
    Razor: Maggard MR1
    Blade: SuperMax Titanium
    Brush: Chesterfield/Carrington Synthetic 22mmx49mm

    Aftershave: Floid Blue sample

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angle for my beard a bit)

This was the 2nd shave with the SuperMax Titaniums. They did a good job, nice and smooth so far. I was back with the Stirling Margaritas in the ARCTIC. The menthol is just right! This scent is really growing on me. It fills room with a fresh squeezed lime aroma. The lather was easy to find again today…even with south Texas ROCK water. It was thick, slick, and cushioning. I finished with Krampert’s Frostbite. Along with the MITA soap, it leaves my face cool, in great shape, and well conditioned. I finished today with Floid Blue to keep the menthol shave going. My skin feels great!

    'Stache Wax: Dirigo Blue

Guys, little pink stars don't shave the face, the word LADY doesn't shave the face, your face can't read and your whiskers don't know colors, so get over it and try this razor. The weight, the length, the balance, the aggression - this is one fantastic razor. Today's results = BBS.

TSD M Bomb - after all, it is Menthol Week ;)
