Once again I really enjoyed freezing my face off while shaving and I still have enough cream in this Palmolive Cool tube to use perhaps once more, and then it'll be finished. It's going to be as hot as hell today so the Anherb conditioner and Barbon aftershave sure came in handy to keep me feeling cool and comfortable. ;) :D

Very nice comfortable and close shave this morning. I have at least a couple more crazy days this week, maybe Friday things will calm down a bit. Have a good one.

    Wednesday-For Menthol Week

    Prep: Hot Shower
    Soap: Proraso White
    Razor: Maggard MR1
    Blade: SuperMax Titanium
    Brush: Omega 10066 Boar

    Aftershave: Krampert’s Frostbite

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angle for my beard a bit)

This was the 3rd shave with the SuperMax Titaniums. They did another excellent job, nice and smooth so far. I was back with the Proraso White. It is a much milder menthol. Close, nick, and burn free. I finished with Krampert’s Frostbite. My face is cool and conditioned. My skin feels great!

Do you work in IT? I always think it's interesting to see what other IT guys/gals do for a living. Apparently today is the day for network problems, as I had a major issue with my Exchange server this morning. :signs131:

    Unscented glycerin soap
TSD unscented lanolin soap/AoS unscented soap
    Oscar11 HIS brush
    Gillette fat-handled Tech
    Astra SP blade
    CeraVe lotion

Good lather from the combination of TSD lanolin soap and AoS soap. I had just a small amount of each soap left in their own containers, so I combined them in a single small container. Three passes, very smooth results from the Astra in the Tech.

Sunshine in Seattle again today!

Wow, another DFS with the Schick E2 Injector and these wonderful re-branded Personna blades. Just one pass with touch up and I'm good to go. I can't get enough of that beautiful slick Arko lather, my face feels like a million bucks.

Post: Cold Water Rinse, double splash of aftershave

I was hoping to be shaving with the iKon slant today, but I did not pay attention to the fine print on the vendors websites they are taking orders for sales before the razors are in stock. I guess I was deceived by the the first sentence: "The long awaited iKon Slant Bar Safety Razor is finally here."

So with no iKon Slant in hand I decided to give my favorite standard bar hard a spin this morning. Excellent shave from this head, the quality of the razor could be a little better, but for $16 what is there to complain about it. It shaves much better than the EJ head from which was modeled after.

Three full passes and minor touch-ups provided a great shave.

Everyone enjoy your Wednesday and have a great day.

Soap: Ginger's Garden Coffee Jasmine Glycerin

The Treet Platinum performed as well as I'd expected, given how much I'd already enjoyed the other Treet/Trig blades I used. I git a superbly DFS, except. . . somehow, in lightly gliding over the scar on my neck, I caught the corner of the blade against scar tissue. It stung a good bit - particularly with the alum, which I needed to stop the bleeding. Sigh.

Taking a bit of a break from menthol week to try out my Maca Root sample. The MR lathered like a champ and it felt amazing on the skin. Now, I'm not too partial to the scent but I'm sure it will grow on me. I may consider a bigger tub of this at some point. The Super Max blade, I'm sorry, I tried them several times they simply aren't for me. The pull on this blade was almost unbearable. After my shave I took the blade out and tossed it in the trash. I'll be using more of the Maca Root tomorrow with a better blade.

KI'm continuing with the Gem 1912, and I'm starting to get some good results. I'm still on my first Gem stainless steel blade, at shave number six it still isn't showing any real signs of degradation, so I'll continue on with it.

My reknotted Muhle/TGN synthetic and my EMJ synthetic are my goto brushes when face lathering and I am using a shave stick today so I plucked up the Muhle/TGN for the shave.

The soap that I am using today requires some explanation. I am not a fan of Provence Sante. I love green tea scented soaps, but I dislike PS Green Tea's scent. I love French veggie soaps, but I dislike PS' overall performance. The soap has some great skin care qualities, but that's about all I can say for it. So, it mostly just sits and gathers dust. If I had remembered it I would have tossed it into the box when the Nationwide Box Tour came my way. Today I decided to experiment a bit so I grated up the PS, mixed it with some grated up VDH Deluxe, and pressed the mix into a Kingsley dark wood bowl. I liked the results, but this left some extra scraps of roughly 50/50 PS and VDH Deluxe that wouldn't fit into the bowl. There was not enough to make a good puck out of, so I decided to experiment further. I pulled out some Shea butter glycerin soap base, a quarter of a puck of William's Mug Soap, and an almost used up bit of no name triple milled mint hand soap and grated it all into the mix. I took this unholy abomination and pressed it into a twist up shave soap stick container, used some hot water to smooth it out and let it dry up a bit. This frankensoap is what I am using today.

I did a three pass wtg/atg/xtg shave followed by a cold water rinse and some T.N. Dickinson Witch Hazel. The results were surprisingly good. I managed my first BBS shave with a Gem razor. I came away with no nicks and only mild irritation along my jaw line, which the T.N. Dickinson Witch Hazel took care of. The soap lathered up easily and created a nice slick surface. Afterward my skin felt soft and smooth, but, sadly, without the nice powdery talc feel that PS usually leaves on my skin. It was a good shave with my insane frankensoap soap.
