Still no update on the iKon Slant from the vendor I purchased it from so I decided to use the FaTip today. I have not used an open comb in a while and this one was staring at me from a bottom drawer.

I forget how well this razor shaves. I had put it away as I have been waiting for the Gold Toro Mastiff to be released so I can pair that handle to this head, but I have to admit this felt very good in my hand as it is.

Two full passes with light buffing provided an outstanding shave.

    Enjoy your Thursday everyone.

Ryan I have been using the French Gillette creams for a bit now and I traded some of that for this Argentinian Sensitive. It smells different than the french, lathers as well, tons of cushion and the Argentinian cream is a bit slicker. That being said Ilike the French stuff better because it smells a bit better, a little bit a of a stronger scent. They are no longer being made in France so I have to stock up while I can.

This TOBS Lavender SC is the best. It makes tons of lather, and it is so rich and creamy. Clean, smooth shave today. The ASCO Super Stainless blade is doing a fine job. I will see how many shaves I can get out of it. I am hand stropping at the end of each shave now.

I love this setup. It may become my daily routine once I use up all my soaps, and one cream.

    Thursday AM Shave:

    7 o'clock black (7!!)
    Vintage merkur slant
    Proraso green
    Frank shaving silver tip
    Proraso A/S
    Pre De Provence

Day 7 with stainy 7 O'clock black. Believe it or not, got a good shave, except had to go over a few areas a little more than usual. No pain though. One more day and its time for a Rapira, because im looking forward to using one.

I agree with you on the French-made Gillette creams. I've used the Gillette Menthol and Lemon-Lime creams from France and the Lebanese version of both these creams which was also discontinued. The French version of the Menthol cream may have slightly less menthol than the Lebanese version but let me tell you - the lather, scent, and skincare are so much better. The Lebanese cream was freezing-cold but I hated the scent and it left me with dry and irritated skin. The Lemon-Lime cream from France also smells great and has wonderful lather and skincare, whereas the Lebanese version smelled very artificial and had NO skincare. It also was a bit harder to get rich lather with it.

    Да мне нравится Восход.

Yes I like the Voshkod! It was extremely smooth and sharp allowing me a wonderful shave from a razor that I HUFA. I just couldn't seem to get good shaves from milder razors, and it turns out it was just the blades as far as this SS was concerned. Just had a shave that was as comfortable as any I've had with a DE in a while! !!

I also love Arko! Just a plain old Ivory soap smellin' shave. Tons of cushion and slickness. And I really dig the clean scent. Reminds me of taking a bath as a pup at Grandmas! Always good weekend when you spend it at Grandmas right?

The LT/Barbon combo worked just fine. I find citrus notes in the Barbon that go well with the flower and citrus in the LT.

Overall I give this a VDFS status!!

Second and final round for the Maca Root sample. Awesome stuff, it is indeed. Lathers like a friggin' champ. Smell I'm still ehhhh on, but I'm sure that subside if I used it frequently. Not an offensive smell, just a rooty scent, I suppose? Loaded up my 23C with a Feather, this is my second time using a Feather blade. Definitely a "where have you been all my life" scenario. The Feather in the 23C felt smooth as warm butter, no problems taking down my the patches of my beard that grow like barbed wire. Used the Omega Syntex, as well. Not a bad little brush, but that's the problem, it's little. I'm used to holding my ever so slightly bigger VDH brush that it felt weird holding a smaller one. It's a soft brush but not quite to being floppy. Works well with creams but I'm not sure if it has "digging power" to really take on a hard puck of soap. All in all, very close comfortable shave

A sensational shave with no effort thanks to my Super Speed/Rapira combo. By the way, this Bozzano Sensitive cream from Brazil is awesome. It has a very nice scent (eucalyptus-menthol) and tons of rich lather, and a LOT of menthol cooling. Needless to say, the Svoboda balsam and the Rubby Dubby Doo made the end of this shave feel perfect. ;) :D

Have a great weekend, folks! :)

This was my very first shave with my Birth Year Tech. As expected, it was very user friendly. I used the Stirling MITA. Each time I use it, I like it better. It produces a nice thick, smooth lather. Close, nick, and burn free shave. I finished with Krampert’s Frostbite

3-passes = 5 blade, bang a gong, slap me silly, intergalactic BBS!

I have not chased the BBS for quite some time. Mostly because my main shaver is the 2011 Muhle R-41, which, delivers the DFS in two passes. The Merkur 39C Sledgehammer Slant is such a mild, tame pussycat of a razor compared to the R-41 that I knew I could get away with a third pass. So, I went ahead and grabbed an extra pass with the 39C today so as not to waste the precious Noxzema left in the brush and was rewarded handsomely.

    Enjoy the weekend folks!
