    Clearly Natural unscented glycerin soap
    Razorock Boston Tea Party soap
Burma Shave brush with TGN 20mm synthetic knot
    1956 Gillette flair tip Superspeed
    Astra SP blade
    CeraVe lotion

This is my first brush reknot. The Burma Shave handle is nostalgic to me since my father used one for many years, and the TGN synthetic knot is very good.

Razorock soap was great, as usual, and made a nice creamy layer.

This is my birth year razor, but I have had a hard time liking it. It's been a while since I used it, so I gave it another try today with an Astra blade. I guess my technique has improved, because I got a nice, comfortable, smooth shave today.

    Razor: Merkur 37C HD Slant

    Brush: Semogue SOC Cherrywood Boar
Cream: The Body Shop Maca Root sample
    AS: Gillette Cool Wave
Post: Cold Water Rinse, double splash of aftershave

First use of the Maca Root sample. I know that many guys praise this cream, but for me, I would only use it if I was in an emergency. Even then I would be hard pressed because if I was going into a mall I would much rather purchase the Bigelow.

Overall the shave was good but not great. I am chalking it up to the cream.

    Enjoy your Friday everyone.

    • Head & Shoulders Shampoo with Old Spice scent

    * Shave
    • Prep: Hot shower, Nivea Face Wash, Every Man Jack Signature Mint Face Scrub, Hot towel
    • Brush: Van Der Hagen boar
    • Razor: Merkur 23C
    • Blade: Feather (2)
    • Lather: Arko stick smushed into a tin container
    • Passes: WTG/XTG/ATG/RXTG
    • Post: Warm water rinse, Cold water rinse, T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel pad, Gillette Intense Cooling Lotion, Pinaud Clubman Aftershave Lotion

Today I think is my first encounter with "Feather blades will eat you alive". I must have had too steep of an angle on my neck I got a couple weepers plus nicked my Adam's apple pretty darn good. Used Arko today, nice classic soap, I don't like it quite as much as VDH but its definitely a good soap. I think this will be my last round with the Gillette Intense Cooling Lotion. I like the way it feels initially but ultimately it's not as moisturizing as Nivea PSB. I just picked up some more Nivea today, I'm a happy camper. A decent shave, I feel a spot that I missed though. Oh well, I'll save it for tomorrow.

Pre: Hot shower followed with 2 min hot towel
Cream: Castle Forbes Cedarwood & Sandalwood
    Post: Witch Hazel rub
    Aftershave: Clubman Bay Rum

As I am still very new to wet shaving I'll be switching cream often until I k ow what I like. The castle Forbes was a dame fine lather but after TOBS sandalwood I would venture the cedar overpowers the sandalwood in this blend.

My Fromm has seen little used lately and it still has a partially use blade sitting in it, so I decided to set aside my 1912 for today and pull out the Fromm.

I noticed some Shave Secret in the Nationwide Box Tour box, but I passed on it. The fact that it was there stuck with me though, so I went over to HEB and picked some up for myself. I'm using it along with some Vitos Extra Super soap in shave stick form. Tallow, glycerin, and Shave Secret...this should be one slick shave.

I did a three pass wtg/atg/xtg shave followed by a cold water rinse and some SAL Alum. This was absolutely one of the slickest shaves ever. The Shave Secret made for a great preshave oil (and the smell reminds me of Ogallala), the Vitos did its usual great job, and the Fromm glided across my skin leaving me BBS with zero nicks and zero irritation. An excellent shave.

Pre: Hot shower, warm water splash, and Shave Secret
    Razor: Fromm hair shaper
    Blade: Fromm hair shaper blade
    Brush: EMJ synthetic
    Soap: Vitos Extra Super
Post: Cold water rinse and SAL Alum

    Fri AM Shave:

    7 o'clock black (7.5!!)
    Vintage merkur slant
    Palmolive Stick
    Silver tip no name
    Lucky Tiger A/S
    Pre De Provence balm

UNCLE!! 7 O'clock black didnt make it through day 8. Had to bail a quarter way through and switch to the Rapira. This is what it looked like and I dried it out after each shave (and let it air during the day). I wont push the next Black that far. 4 to 5 is the limit. Stains bug me! But Ill admit I still got a decent shave on day 7!
