Wow.. in the years of shaving like this, I have never used a Merkur blade. On the WTG pass I wondered what they big deal with the blade's bad rep was. By the end of the shave, I knew. First and probably only time I will use a Merkur blade. Nicks, irritation, etc... may have to skip a day or two to recover.

One more day down, 9 more to go! I think by shaving in the evening my shave is lasting longer and I'm not noticing the stubble quite so much. I like it!

Now time to relax and get some rest, Finance class all day tomorrow. Yay?!?

First time with vintage grandpa's slant. It was my first shave with a slant.

The razor feels like there is no blade in it and how I was mistaken about it! The slant is a real beast and punished me without any mercy.
BBS all around combined with a nice burn. Kinda Under-the-skin-BBS . My luck, alum and ASB took care of a burn fast and effective. Lesson learned!

The warm Dark lavender lather was both amazingly fragrant and comfortable to shave with! Awesome shave this morning. The Modern is one Awesome razor.

Comfort-wise, I would rate the 7 AM's at about 7/10, which is pretty good, but I definitely prefer the Rapiras. Today's shave was very smooth and close, but I needed some extra soothing afterwards, and the Everest aftershave/cologne balsam did the right job for me. :biggrin:

Finished up the AOS samples. Again, I'm wondering what the oil is supposed to do for me. I'm not sure how it improved the shave, and it certainly left a messy film in the sink and was hard to get off my hands. The AOS cream whipped up easily and had a good firm consistency.
