    Omega Wooden Handle
    1950's Super Speed/Sharp day 2
    D'amaris Royal-SC :love008 :love008 :happy108 :happy108
    Lubriderm unscented moisturizer
    Tarr Super-AS :love008 :love008 :happy108 :happy108
    Brut-Cologne

I cannot believe that for the 1st time in around 3 months, I shaved without any menthol cream or soap. However, this D'amaris Royal cream is to die for--the scent is so clean and nice, yet old-school, the lather is rich and easy to create, and the skincare is numero uno. It's made by Colgate-Palmolive. It is available only in Romania and Moldova. The Tarr Super aftershave is made in Romania, and it is fantastic! ;) :D

    Saturday.

    Ever-Ready / Vulfix Boar re-knot
    Arko SS
    Feather Portable Bull Mastiff
    Lord Platinum (1)
    Pinaud Clubman Bay Rum

I received the Lord Plats a while ago in trade and never got around to trying them. I have to say that I like this blade a good bit more than the Shark SC that was in my top 3. If subsequent shaves with the Lord Platinum are as good as the shave today, my top 3 may be changing. I was DFS after two passes and could have stopped after a little touch up, but chose to go 3 passes plus some touch up and will probably be faceturbating all day.

    Blade: Super Iridium
    Brush: Vulfix 2234 Super
    Cream: Cyril Salter Sublime Citrus
A/S: Thayer's Lemon Witch Hazel, Taylor's No. 74 Victorian Lime

Just a great, citrusy shave this morning--couldn't ask for better! The Taylor Victorian Lime splash has become a favorite of mine.

Saturday - It's the weekend! :happy069 Time for the SEs

Prep: Hot shower, strop blade 30/60
Hot Coffee: Home roasted Tanzania, black
    Strop: VB 2" Black Latigo
Soap: TSD Egyptian Spice + 3 drops M Bomb
    Brush: Vulfix 406, The Burlington
    Str8: Robeson SurEdge, 3 passes
Post: Cold water rinse, RazoRock, ice water splash, Brut Attitude
    'Stache Wax: Firehouse Wacky Tacky

    Shave Rating: 4 Blades

A much, much better shave today than last Saturday's str8 shave. The lather was perfect, the blade didn't pull or tug. I could have gone for the 5-blades by using an SE to touch up the neck, but the shave was going so well I wanted it to be a pure str8 job, rough patches included :D

As I mentioned, I do like the scent of the new Brut Attitude, but just not really enough menthol to notice. Either that or I've become desensitized from Bombing just about everything!

Have a great day folks. I'm going antiquing!

    Saturday:

    Cooper Monobilt razor
    Shark SuperChrome blade
    Vie-Long Brush
    CO Bigelow SC
    Osage Rub
    Visal Balm
    M&L FLorida Water Cologne

The Cooper razor is neat to look at but doesn't shave very well. Maybe I just need more practice with it. Very smooth though

    Str8 Saturday

    • Custom Gold Dollar str8
    • The Dridecker
    • boosted VDH Deluxe
    • Thayer's rose petal WH
    • super boosted Clubman Pinaud

My first str8 shave with a bona-fide shave ready str8. I used this razor for every str8 shave I ever had up until this point with a suicidal, almost but not quite there edge on it. Now that it is sharp it is a wayyy more enjoyable experience. I have a few weepers and a few spots that I missed that could have been made better with touch-up. All said and done, I rate today's shave a 3 balde shave. As my technique improves (gets figured out, more aptly put) I'm sure that I'll get that rating to move upward.

    Happy Saturday From Steamy Florida!

    Hot Shower
    RAB Scuttle
    TGN Synthetic Re-Knotted Fuller
    Lea SC
    Merkur Progress Slammed to 5
    Dorco 301 (2)
    Cold Water Rag
Witch Hazel / Alum Powder Blend
    Booster Mosswood A/S
    Arko Sensitive ASB

3 Passes = 5 Blade Off The Hook BBS!

The Lea Cream is a menthol cream that has a strong cedar smell to it, and that is just fine with me.

The Boosters Mosswood A/S is my favorite scent of the entire line.

The Progress = very aggressive on 5 and I love it! Although I am tossing the Dorco 301 after shave #2 because it was feeling a little rough. I wonder if it is a bad blade, or if the Progress on 5 dulls it faster???

I have a lot of brushes, but the TGN Synthetic is in my top two right now. The Fuller handle feels great in the hand.

    Have a great weekend ya'll!

    -4.5 blades-the shave mirror was more like a microscope-the close-up of
my mishap from last week was so ugly I had to remove 1/2 blade.
-Won some money in Blackjack-AOS go that money and more. Everything I used
today was from the samples they gave me. Got the Progress (can't believe
I never had that razor-it's awesome), Lavender SC and Sandalwood Soap. Could
    have been worse I guess.

Indeed they are. The only enbablers more enabling are my fellow TSD members
    and SWMBO.
It's actually a nice store-pricey but nice. They give str8 shaves-$35, $50 with a clay mask. The woman
(asst manager) was pleasant and well informed.

Likely my best shave yet with this razor. When an initial stropping yielded mediocre results I ran it across the stone and restropped before the shave. Result-a nice crisp edge and a wonderful shave.

4.8 rating on 3+ passes. Used my Gem for the lower neck. Best Derby shave in a good while. The Lucky Tiger Aspen gave a nice, clean, oil-free finish, which I
like in the summer, when moisturizers often are not needed or desired.

A lovely smooth shave which ended up with a DFS, cant be bothered to push the boat out to get a BBS with a mild razor, a DFS is good enough no irritation, no weepers, just a few bits around my chin that could be gone over a few times. I'm definately like the mild razors atm, the SS and Tech are being used alternatively, might have to bring some of the big guns out soon tho.

Didn't shave yesterday to let face heal from a little 'Heat Rash' the day before...Maaan, I dropped in a new Astra...Took my time getting a great face lather going...Did 1 Pass with some face-streching like at the barber-shop, and that was it !! ONE PASS BARBER SHOP CLOSE SHAVE...Wanted to use some more of that great lather the brush was holding, but really no point...Been rubbing my face ever-since...Great Shave...

PS One disturbing note though...had 3 bad blades and 2 GREAT ones in the last pack of Astras...Whats happening ?? That was the same thing with the last pack of Derbys...I mean BAD printing, and sharp BITE !! Oh well hope my average is better with this pack...But the shaves with the good ones are GREAT...
