That's pretty neat-combining the real thing with Stoylin Noir.

Lather Bros has been on my wish list for a while now. Glad to hear the performance matches the cool label designs. Really like those new bottles they switched to for the balms.

    SHAVE OF THE DAY

Prep: Occams Crushed Lime Pre Shave Soap
    Razor: Gillette Superspeed Flair Tip
    Blade: Treet Classic
    Brush: Fine Angel Hair Synthetic
    Soap: L&L Puzzle
    Post: CL TSM Fougere salve

Fairly decent shave this afternoon. The Puzzle whipped up a nice lather in the red ceramic bowl. The scent is certainly unusual, conplicated citrus is how i would describe it, perhaps some patchouli or sandalwood to add depth as it is a pretty dark citrus to my nose. Picked up this sample from a fourm member a while back and am just now getting around to trying this particular scent. Don't think it is something i would run out and buy a full tub, but is something different and a change of pace. The shave went well and no complaints. Finished off with TSM Fougere Salve. Hope everyone had a great shave!

    Razor - 1960 (F4) Gillette Toggle (9)
    Blade - [IMG] (17)
Soap - Jeeves of Hudson Street Bay Rum
    Brush - Jayaruh #46
    Post - Alum

Shave 17 on the P74 blade. Jeeves and JR46 for the lather and it was a good one. Seems like maybe the lather helped this shave along as it seemed smoother than yesterday and there was no blood involved at all. The finish is DFS and that's good, but seems a little less than it has been. A slow and almost imperceptible slide in quality of the shave seems to be taking place. I did focus on keeping the pressure off of the Toggle tonight and maintaining angle all the way so that probably helped with the feel. Alum was quiet, after shave irritation burn is in place but no worse than it has been.

I know I approach every shave right now with low hopes of it being a great shave but the blade continues to perform well above expectations. The worsening finish is the biggest change I can see and sliding from BBS to near-BBS to high DFS over 17 days is nothing short of amazing, really. Less than two weeks to hit 30 days and I'm thinking maybe I can baby it there? Time will tell. For now, it's earned day 18 in the razor tomorrow.

    Happy Saturday night everyone!

Razor - Gillette Superspeed (circa 1947-1952) (Re-plated in Nickel Finish by Razor Emporium)
    Blade - [IMG] *4th shave
Shave Brush - Custom Created Handle by an "Unknown" Artist (Fitted with a synthetic 26mm Knot by Nathan of Envy Shave)
Shave Soap - Shulton Old Spice (circa mid 60's-late 70's, fits 3.75 ounce mugs from the era)
Shave Mug - Shulton Ship Grand Turk - Tempered Glass (sold 1964 thru 1978) with Custom Lid by Nathan of Envy Shave
Aftershave - Shulton Old Spice (circa 1980's)
Deodorant - Shulton Old Spice (circa early-mid 1980's)
Fragrance - Shulton Old Spice Long Lasting Cologne Spray (circa 1980's 'tester bottle' made for store display only, extremely rare.)
"Grand Turk Ship" Shaving Stand by Desire Metal Works

***EDIT - The shave today was below average. I had some irritation immediately during the shave itself and I should have changed the blade out for a fresh one but like a stubborn man I figured it only is having its 4th shave, so it must still be good. My face told me a different story today. Normally I get 8 shaves minimum out of the Superspeed and the BiC Chrome-Platinum combo, but maybe I got a bad blade that only managed 3 good shaves? I ended up having to use my Clubman Styptic Pencil like an alum block all over my face. Sting-city. Clearly that blade was tearing me up and leaving me raw. After the alum was applied I splashed on the vintage Old Spice Aftershave and that made it all worth while. The shave turned out smooth, so in the end the results of the shave were good, but the comfort was not there this time around like it usually is. I cleaned up the razor and put in a fresh blade for next time. Normally this razor is one of my top-2 'bullet-proof' shavers. Today was an extremely rare exception. The blade had to be a defective one. The BiC Chrome-Platinums have been the most consistently solid shave with this razor and this was the first time I had a sub-par shave with the blade.

    Gem Junior Bar Lather Catcher
    Original Gem Cutlery SE

    Tabac AS

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Williams Mug Shave Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #270 brush. I did two passes with the Gem Junior Bar Lather Catcher Razor with an Original Gem Cutlery SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Tabac AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
