Tonight's shave was great. I had a very smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BBS. Zero issues. It is with a little known razor, that delivers. The name says it all.

Razor- "Perfection" Warranted, by T.Hessen Bruch & Co.
    Brush- Omega 10098 Boar
    Soap- Arko/Sandalwood scented
    Aftershave- Vintage, Avon "Brisk Spice".

    THURSDAY'S SHAVE

    Razor - Edwin Jagger "Kelvin"
Blade - Gillette Platinum *5th Shave
Shave Brush - Da Vinci Uomo "Synique"
    Razor/Brush Stand by Royal Shave
Shave Soap - Ginger's Garden "Aventus" vegan Formula
    Aftershave - Fine "Platinum"
Deodorant - Lucky Girl Boutique's Pure Body Delights "Monarch"
    Fragrance - Creed "Aventus"

Yet another shave with the plain yet efficient, affordable Edwin Jagger Kelvin that always delivers a fine, near-bulletproof shave. The synthetic Da Vinci Uomo "Synique" is very usual compared to most synthetics. How? It has an almost 'scratchy' feel to the lathering action on my face. It's the most aggressive exfoliation action of all my shave brushes and stands out as the most unique synthetic I own (I only own synthetic knots). I wouldn't call it an uncomfortable lathering experience but it is not as silky as other synthetics in my collection. But that's not a bad thing, only rather it's 'different'. I would call this even more aggressive than my fancy silver faux-boar brush. The only reason I own synthetics is due to the smell from animal-based hair. I feel like it interferes with my soap scents a bit and distracts me too much. Besides, synthetics seem to be so much easier to maintain for the long-term in that they clean up real easy. I'm spraying on Aventus tomorrow because it's the 'manly-alpha' scent and I'll be drafting my fantasy football team with co-workers tomorrow.

Hey, Shannon's Soaps has a scent called "Black Magic" that I got from her to build a shaving set around Creed's Selection Verte. Black Magic smells similar and without that scent I would not have been able to make a matching scented shaving set for Selection Verte. So, I just wanted to give her a shout out since her products are solid.

Yes. Her products are outstanding. And, as you can attest too, she is quite accommodating if you need something set up to your liking.

LOL. :angry021:I don't know what to expect tomorrow morning, but I hope not to explode! Doug suggests pairing with Tombstone since it has gunpowder, but I thought the leathery scent from the Reserve would go well also. The puck smells mild and pleasant. I hope it doesn't have too strong of a sulfur scent when wet, but I think it will be fine.

Adjustable (Arko) Anything Goes and whatever else we decide AUGUST!!!!

    August 29

    Razor - 1960 (F4) Gillette Toggle (9)
    Blade - [IMG] (1)
    Soap - Arko
Brush - Stirling Old Style Synthetic
    Post - Alum

I mentioned last night I was debating between the Qshave (for its absolute over the top gap size on setting Me) and the Toggle for the final three shaves. Several of you spoke up in favor of the Toggle. True, as the first real adjustable from Gillette it is unique and rare and definitely deserves the honor. I bow to your wisdom. I am pairing it with the Ladas. A top five Moscow blade that doesn't get enough time in my razors.

Arko to finish the month as well since that is the secondary theme. The big Stirling brush made easy work of the lather. No problem at all as usual. And the Toggle on 9 was as efficient as ever. Very nice two pass and touch up shave for the baby in the house and another long day is in the books. Seems like August has passed by way too quickly. These adjustables have all been great and fun as well and I'll miss them when we move to SEptember.

Doctor appointment in 9 hours, which means I ate dinner just in time to allow time for fasting like I am supposed to. Love it when a plan comes together. Have a great night....oops....morning now....and a better rest of today! (There's that pesky time warp again)

    Cold Water Wash
    Tabac
    B-400 by Tom
    Gillette NEW
    Gillette Super Thin
    CWR
    Tabac AS

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Tabac Shave Soap face lathered well with the B-400 Brush by Tom. I did two passes with the Gillette NEW Razor with a Gillette Super Thin DE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Tabac AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

PS I got this Gillette Super Thin DE blade with a Gillette Click I got from Thailand. It came with just one blade, but I was impressed with it when I shaved with the Click. I decided to use it this week with some of my old Gillettes. It is one smooth and sharp blade.

    L'Oreal Men Expert Facial Wash
    Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
    Super Speed/Wilkinson day 5
    Tcheon Fung Sing Sottozero SS
    Prep ASB
    YSL Pour Homme EdT

A good BBS shave that I would have enjoyed much more had I used a soap that I prefer, because in Italian sottozero means "below zero" so you would think this soap is strongly-mentholated, but the fact is you can hardly feel any cooling from it. Its scent is minty and nice, it's a great latherer, but it's not too skin-friendly, at least not to me. The Prep took care of that problem for me right away so today wasn't a total loss after all! ;)
