SE Sunday's Shave


Cold Water Rinse

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Arko Shaving Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #376 Brush. I did two passes with the C.V. Heljestrand Lather Catcher razor with a C.V. Heljestrand Wedge Blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

There was no way that I could do more than two passes with this Shark blade because it became too dull - in fact I thought it wouldn’t even hold up for the second pass, but miraculously it did. The Proraso Blue cream was sitting around idly in my den for around three years so I figured it was time to give it a spin after so long. Truthfully, I’m not a fan of the scent but it lathers excellently and it’s very skin friendly. I also detected a bit of a menthol sensation which felt good. I’m running low on the Lucky Tiger so I’ll have to hit up Italian Barber for some more because it’s such an awesome balm. Do I ever love the Alt Innsbruck - what a gorgeous scent and what a menthol blast it gives. Two passes left me pretty damned smooth!

Coate’s Sandalwood Cream today. 10 seconds to load the Wild West Brushworks/Elite Manchurian White brush. Easy, thick, slick, lather. Gillette “Spoiler” Super Stainless blade still in the Gillette Fat Boy. Excellent smooth, close, shave. I finished with Country Club Southern Oud aftershave.

Hi Friends,

moments ago i had my very first shave with an Occam's Razor.

Razor: Occam's Razor
Blade: Feather Pro Guard
Soap: Eufros Brisa de Oriente
Brush: Rubberset Replica
Aftershave: Felix Schulze Bay Rum
Pomade: Quixote Waterbased Bay Rum

Without any exaggeration i can say, that this was a stellar shave. Easily the best shave i had in the last few weeks, if not months.

Maybe it was the combination with this fantastic soap, which made the shave so effortless, smooth and gentle.

So i loaded the brush for about 30 seconds and lathered up.

The scent was all over the bathroom, so i started shaving. I didn't realize, that the blade was cutting and checked it. No stubbles left!!!

And so were the other passes. No pressure applied and all stubbles were gone with only a few minor touch ups.

I'm really impressed. No doubt that the three dot plate could do an even better job, but the two dotted plate has been fantastic so far.

Rinsing with cold water and almost no stinging or burning at all. Great!!!

Great shave with this equipment. The brush and soap worked together to whip up an amazing lather. This soap is out of sight. The toad stuck around for the picture.
I took a bit of a fall while looking for a golf ball that didn't go where I expected. I hit my head on a rock as my foot slipped as I climbed an embankment. Not to worry the rock is okay.
