The Fine Snake Bite Shave Soap lathered well with Jayaruh #423 Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the AutoStrop A2 Razor with a Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

If a setup like this doesn’t freeze your face off I don’t think anything will - I wish this Glacial Spearmint soap and balm were still in production because they’re both so fantastic. My bathroom still smells a little from spearmint from the soap and from Fernando’s wonderful Frosted Spearmint aftershave which is also a menthol atom bomb. What a great BBS shave this was!

Shave of the Week Starting 9 August 2021

Blade = Gillette 7 O'Clock Sharpedge (yellow)
Brush = WD Synthetic
Cream = Williams
Balm = Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe
A/S = Assorted

Last week was really not good. I'll explain in a different post. As for this post, the shave was very nice. The Gillette combo was/is very smooth and comfortable resulting in good results. My face is happy. Now go enjoy your day folks.

A very nice 2 pass shave with this razor. As this has been my primary razor for almost 3 months, I have put all of my other razors away.

I will spend a few months fine tuning things.

 

MMMonday, ASRazor shave, Aug 9th 2021

Razor: Everready 1914(AKA LLC) - Mfg 1914-17excellent mid range, great audio feedback, always great results with the 1914.
Blade: Gem Personna SS PTFE(9) great blade, very Sharp with great longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable.
Soap: Razorock Santa Marie del Fiore, nice mild tobacco vanilla scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi Cola 22mm, excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice scrub, great lather painter.
Pre shave: Brush washed whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave: Razorock Santa Marie Fiore AS with witch hazel + a dollop of Nivea with HA.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers = excellent shave with my ER 1914(LLC) with a coated Gem Blade.

This 1941 Russkie has always been one of my favorites. The quarter hollow grind seems to hide how sharp it really is. Three days of stubble are now a memory and I’m indulging in some prolonged face-rubbing of the super close result
