Today's shave with the Hawk v3 with the open comb base plate was so nice, I am going to continue with the Hawk this week to see if I can graduate to a Feather Professional blade. The Titan "Mild" blade gave very good results.

Razor - Hawk v3 with open comb base plate (The Beast)
Blade - Captain Titan Mild (2)
    Pre-shave - Proraso White
    Soap - Castle Forbes "Lavender"
    Brush - Simpson T3 Trafalgar
Post - Thayers Toner & Proraso balm
    AS - Proraso

I warmed the bowl & brush while I washed my face. I used my spoon to measure a dollop of soap, dropped it into the bowl, and in less than a minute had nice Lavender richness. I could have stopped with one pass but, I did a 2-pass shave WTG & ATG with no cleanup. Maybe the Mild blades are the best match for me? No cuts, nicks, or weepers and no feedback from the alum bar. VERY pleasant and close shave. I may not have enuff to shave off tomorrow!

I am seeing the bottom of the Castle Forbes but, I still have more lavender in reserve to use before I buy any more of this brand. I have a Classic Shaving puck and a jar of TOBS yet to use. I like Lavender.

Yes, the Hawk is still my fav. VERY efficient.

Sunday Schick Shave, August 21 2022, Still testing this modified Kai Protouch guarded blade, very easy going shave with no issues.

Razor : Schick adjustable injector, Model 3(M3)- Mfg 1970-72, well built adjustable with good range, fairly long handle + enjoyable shave this morning.
Blade : Kai Protouch modified(5) sharp & smoooth with reasonable longevity for a AC blade. The guarded blade prevents blade from digging in + another alternative blade possibly for 40mm injectors if some one choses .
Soap : Ogallala Bayrum & Sandalwood, nice mid range scent as it dries down the Sandalwood sweetness starts its part projecting.
Brush : Yaqi 24mm mysterious space Silvertip badger- excellent lather generator, heavenly pillow like soft tips, nice splay scrub + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
    Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG(7) + ATG(7) + pickups (9).
Post shave :Witch hazel soap residual cleanse followed by Ogallala Bayrum with Sandal wood + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results :CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers=[IMG] Excellent shave with my Schick adjustable M3 with a modified Protouch AC blade shortened to fit the Schick size of blades.

    Menthol Monday's Cold Water Shave

    Cold Water Rinse
    Virgilio Valobra Shaving Soap
    Semogue Owners Club
    Gillette Short Comb NEW
    Treet Carbon Steel
    CWR
    Osage Rub

A shaver, GAW7596 on TOST3, modified a MMOC handle to use on other razors. When he sent it back to me, he included a tuck of Treet Black Carbon Steel blades. He suggested I should use them in a vintage Gillette. So, this week I am using my short comb NEW with the Treet blades. Thanks, @GAW9576 .

The Virgilio Valobra Shaving Soap lathered well with Semogue Owners Club boar brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gillette Short Comb NEW razor with a Treet Carbon Steel Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I decided to clean and dry off the blade and give it a palm stropping. I set it aside for tomorrow's shave. Let's see how many good shaves I can get out of it.

Shave of the Week Starting 8/22/2022

    Parker 78r razor
    Astra SP blade
    AP Shave Co brush
    Taconic Bay Rum SC
    Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe
    Taconic Bay Rum A/S

A couple of hold overs from last week, the Parker and AP Shave Co brush. Both worked very well last week. I'm going to use the Parker for a couple more weeks with different blades/soaps/creams then to a review on the razor. So far, it's really good. Very smooth, comfortable and gives DFS with no nicks, no cuts, no errors so far. The Taconic Bay Rum SC is easy to lather, gives great protection and the scent is mild/mellow/enjoyable. No hint of clove either which had turned me off of a lot of bay rum products. My face is happy. Now go enjoy your day folks.

I had a breakthru shave with the Hawk. Today, I shaved with a Professional blade and didn't cut myself! Menthol Monday

Razor - Hawk v3 with open comb base plate
Blade - Feather Professional (4th shave)
    Pre-shave - Proraso Blue
    Soap - Proraso Green menthol
    Brush - Simpson "Commodore"
Post-Shave - Thayers Toner & Geo F Trumper "Skin Food" Sandalwood
    AS - Pinaud Clubman

Menthol Monday and cold water shave. I wet the brush and loaded it in the menthol Proraso for about a minute and then switched to the lather bowl. I had to add some water and in about a minute had rich lather. Cold water rinse as well.

I was going to use the Titan Mild blade again but, changed my mind at the last minute and put in a Feather Professional blade I had been using. Ride the cap! VERY light touch got me super close in 2 passes WTG & ATG. I got a couple weepers on my chin but, cold water stopped them. Alum bar gave minimal feedback. I will use the same razor/blade tomorrow too! This Hawk v3 is an impressive shaver. I won't say that I have tamed the beast yet tho. I will put a few more error free shaves behind me first!

Razor : Star bar #4model lather catcher, Mfg 1919-20, mild >tame mid range, well built and very pleasing to the eye, shaves excellent and one of my favorites to use. Might be one of the last lather catchers models built by the Kampfe Brothers of Brooklyn NY(first Mfg of the safety razors in the world)?
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE(6) very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely + predictable.
Soap : Razorock Irish Countryside, nice mild scent with some of the best lather qualities in a soap.
Brush : Yaqi Rainbow 26 mm brown whiskers, excellent lather generator, heavenly cloud like soft tips, great splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre- shave: (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock Irish Countryside[IMG] with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
