Menthol Monday's Shave

The Fine Snake Bite Shave Soap lathered well with Jayaruh #371 Badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Razorock Black Hawk Razor and a Feather Professional Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

Yep! Cryogen is COLD!!! My first shave with this soap on this "Menthol Monday" froze my face off!

Washed face and will shower later. It's supposed to get really hot and humid today so, a shower will be nicer later. I used my spoon to measure the soap and I had no problem building lather in my bowl. I did have to add a bit of water. I did not feel the really cold until the second pass and the washing face with brush squeezings. My eyes watered! I used Prorasso Blue to tame the cold a bit.

Razor - 1967 Gillette Slim set on 7 and dropped to 5 for second pass.
Blade - Feather Hi Stainless 4th shave
Pre-shave - Proraso Blue (not as cold as the Green)
Soap - Chiseled Face Cryogen (SUPER Menthol)
Brush - Perfecto badger brush that I rescued
Post shave - Thayers Toner "Rose Petal" & Geo F Trumper "Skin Food"
AS - Pinaud Clubman

Very pleasant but cold shave that made my eyes water! Close 2-pass shave with cleanup on jawline. WTG & ATG. Minor feedback on neck and jawline from alum bar. No cuts or errors You can't bleed when your face is frozen!

All kidding aside, this is nice soap for the summer. Scooping out a dollop with my spoon worked very well. It was easy to get the soap all used for the lather. No chunks in bottom of the bowl. This soap worked well. I will use the spoon to keep water out of the jar as much as possible. If this soap draws moisture right from the air, I will keep the lid on it!

Looking through my stash and came across the Viking SS which I hadn't used in a long time. It's good stuff so it's on deck this week. Another week with the 78r and I'll do a report on how I feel about it then. Right now, it's a winner. All the parts liked each other so my face is happy. Now go enjoy your day folks.

MMMonday, Aug 29th 2022- still testing spline shim with great results IMO. Might be used a lot more often in certain ASR razors!

Razor : Micromatic Clog Pruf(17nib SB Peerless model)-Mfg 1945, Excellent mid range, built to last, feels good in hand & made of solid brass + a joy to use.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE(8) very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely + predictable.
Soap : Razorock XXX Fresco, nice unique lightly mentholated fresh scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi Cavern lake 24mm Tuxedo knot, excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice splay scrub + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock XXX Fresco with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results :CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Excellent shave with my Gem Clog Pruf Peerless model with a coated Gem blade.

Thank you, Joesph. Definitely sounds like a barbershop scent. I have Floid Mentolado Vigoroso so I have somewhat of an idea. I also have Razorock Baby Blue which I assume is their Floid Blue knockoff and this one is really powdery, a lot more so than Vigorso and Floid Blue. I may pull the trigger on this.

Lather: HWF Lanolin Shaving Soap (No.1) with Cedarwood & Patchouli.
Blade: Feather Hi Stainless. (D3)
Razor: Snmirn Adjustable. (settings) 4-wtg,8,-atg,6,-pick ups.

Post:
Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face Rinse./ Homemade (~Spring/Summer mix~) Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Essential Oils.3 Menthol Crystals Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./Cien X-Bolt ASL./L'0REAL Barber Club Reinforcing ASB.

Last early morning shave of the month for me.

The Snmirn Adj / Feather Hi Stainless paired together wonderfully making a superb combo mowing through my stubble with effortless ease.

The HWF lanolin shaving soap provided a great lather.

All of the HWF lanolin soaps i have purchased still perform & smell ok with no indication that the ingredients are starting to deteriorate.

Another wonderful 2 pass + pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of L'0REAL Barber Club Reinforcing ASB.

My face is feeling silky smooth & smelling divine.
