Prep: Warm shower:/Dove Men+Care Clean Comfort Body+Face Wash.

Cold wet flannel to my face & head.
Pears with Mint Extracts Transparent Bar Soap.
Cold wet flannel to my face & head.
Brush: Omega 49.
Face & Head Lather.
Frankensoap: Arko + Palmolive Classic grated Shave sticks.(grated)
Frankenrazor: Yaqi DOC Mellon Head / Schmidt R10 Handle.- Rapira Platinum Lux. (D1)

Post:

(" Chinese clone razors August")

For the next month I'll be revisiting various Chinese clone razors, Franken-soaps, shaving creams & soaps along with various Russian made DE blades that I haven't used or added to shave sets ups for some time.

Starting the month off with the Yaqi DOC mellon head ("The grand shave king self lubricating razor clone") fitted to the hefty Schmidt R10 handle makes a excellent Franken-razor pairing it up with the Rapira Platinum Lux made a very comfortably razor & blade duo.

The yaqi 'DOC Mellon head' on first appearance looks extremely aggressive, but looks are very deceiving sometimes it's a wonderfully smooth non-aggressive head, however like any razor either aggressive or non-aggressive, if not treated with respect it'll bite you.

I will continue to use the Yaqi DOC Mellon Head / Schmidt R10 Handle duo & Rapira Platinum Lux blade with my next week's SOTD set ups. to familiarise myself once again with the razor & blade duo.

A enjoyable 2 pass + pick ups close comfortable face & head shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Creightons Sensitive PSB.

My face & precious swede are is feeling smooth & smelling divine.

The Tabac Shave Soap lathered well with the Red and Black Badger Brush by Tom. Two passes and touch ups with the Red and Black OT Razor by T. White and a Gillette Nacet Stainless Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Tabac ASB. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

On Saturday I picked up my package at the post office which was full of awesome stuff from India and this Bombay cream and balm were two of the items. This cream is a backup for one I already have and I love it. The scent is so nice, it lathers like a son of a gun, there’s a mild but pleasant menthol sensation, and very skin friendly. The matching balm has the same scent, and it gives great soothing as well as lots of moisturizing, the Alt Innsbruck aftershave is loaded with menthol and it smells delightful but its scent doesn’t interfere with the gorgeous fragrance of the Bleu de Chanel. Three passes with my cherished 50s Super Speed gave me a brilliant BBS shave that was so enjoyable!

Preshave: Hot shower
Soap/Shave cream: Stirling Soap Bay Rum

The only (minor) drawback to an otherwise perfect shave was the Stirling Bay Rum crumbling as I loaded the brush but it's just a thin sample size so no big deal.
I wasn't a fan of the Silver Blue blade when I first tried it but now it's slipped into my "Hey, that's not so bad after all" category.
Just a fantastic smooth and close shave. The old vintage Gillette Super Speeds are simply amazing ... so much so I already have 4 of them and another one on the way.

DE SOTD, Tuesday, August 1st 2023

Razor : Yaqi Slope slant, 316SS semi polished with a Yaqi handle- Mfg 2023> mild to tame mid range depending on blade used, excellent accurate machining with a great finish for my shaving needs. This torsional type slant works well and even with a Kai extra wide blade my skin seems feel great after the shave with no issues. This is a compact torsional design with very few that are designed like this ever made, Closest I have seen would be the Above The Tie S2 and it is even slightly different in design.
This could be a daily driver for a lot of folks and myself included, had a close shave with no issues shave this morning. If a person likes a little more blade the Kai extra wide blade works well.
Blade : Kai SS extra wide (5) sharp and smooth with excellent longevity, great blade if a person wants a little more blade feel or blade exposure. Great blade for milder razors that need a boost IMO.
Soap : Razorock XXX Fresco, nice unique clean masculine scent with excellent lather qualities. Nice hot summer time treat, menthol is not over the top or I would not of bought it, it will not make your eyes tear.
Brush : Yaqi " Lucky dice" 26mm brown whiskers fan knot, excellent lather generator, Luxury cloud like soft tips, great splay scrubber + great lather painter. Nice large handle with a very luxury Fan knot.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Fine fresh Vetiver with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= excellent shave with my Yaqi Slope slant with a Kai extra wide blade.
