DE SOTD, August 16th 2023


Razor : Razorock 2nd Gen Lupo.72- Mfg Jan 2021>, mid range, well designed + machining accuracy & finish are excellent. One of my favorite DE razors for sure, excellent for shaving beard lines and under the nose area. Had a close + no issues shave this morning.
Blade : Gillette Perma sharp(1) sharp & smooth with great longevity.
Soap : Ach Brito Lavanda cream, nice mild lavender with a touch of mint + excellent later qualities. Lavender rocks!
Brush : Yaqi "Moka express" 26mm Husky knot, Excellent lather generator, heavenly, luxury cloud like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. 26mm synthetic knots are wonderful to work the face when lathering IMO.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Ach Brito Lavanda aftershave cologne(mild scent) with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Excellent shave this morning with my Razorock Lupo.72 with a Perma sharp. Very enjoyable shave with a great blade.

The Proraso Sandalwood Shave Soap lathered well with Jayaruh #444 Synthetic brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Parker Variant Razor and a Gillette Silver Blue Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Dickinson's Witch Hazel and then Pinaud Citrus Musk EDC. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

After two back to back non mentholated shaves it felt heavenly to have a Grand Freeze. The Glacial Electric Sheep soap is such a treasure - the same delightful lemony/citronella/eucalyptus scent as the regular version, the mutton tallow formula gives this soap such magnificent lather that’s so thick, rich, creamy, SUPER SLICK and protective, the menthol sensation can flatten a polar bear, and the skincare is A1. The Prep delivered so generously on the postshave care, the Floid Vigoroso aftershave gave me lots more menthol goodness together with its gorgeous old school barbershop scent that I love so much. Last but not least the Givenchy Gentleman which was a gift from my sister-in-law a few years ago and I’m good to go. BBS from three swift, enjoyable passes - what a great shave this was!
