MMMonday, August 28th, 2023. Micromatic Monday Thread, use any ASR razor that uses a Gem blade any day of the week, all welcomed!

Razor : Ever-Ready 1924(AKA= shovel head), Mfg 1924-1933, nice tame to mid range. It was built before Gem changed its blade design to what we use today with the thinner aluminum spline. I like to use a RIGS shim underneath the newer Gem blade and smooths out the shave nicely. This was a popular razor because of it's years of production which always indicates a successful model.
Had a close comfortable shave this morning with no issues.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE (3) very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : Gillette Pure cream, very nice clean scent with excellent lather qualities. Excellent for making ubber lather(bowl soap remnants.).
Brush : Yaqi"Atlantis" 24mm G4 synthetic, excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, some back bone for nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. This knot is very similar to a 3 or 2 band badger IMO + handle is unique and feels excellent in hand.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Excellent close comfortable shave this morning with a coated Gem blade.

I purchased two T&H Wellington's back in 2013/14. This one is in black the other is porcelain and at the time I did so based on forum threads stating the Wellingtons were actually made by Rooney and have 15% more badger hair for the better backbone. I do not know who makes them now but I understand that years ago Vulfix/Simpson took over the Wellington handle design is exactly like the Rooney Style 1 that I have as well. Looking at the current prices on T&H website, what they are selling their super badger is what I paid for my badger back then. Hard for me to say if the extra cash is worth the difference than a Simpson but I prefer the face feel of the T&H over my Simpson badgers as they do feel like Rooney hand-tied badger but a little more backbone.

Early morning face & head shave,

The schmidt R10 handle paired together with the Yingjili Tech head makes a wonderful Frankentech. The extra weight of the R10 handle gives a good additional heft, making a non-aggressive yet efficient duo.

Fourth outing of the Goodfellas' Smile Abysso Shaving Soap & ASL duo which provided me with another exceptional shave the lathering performance of the shaving soap is superb providing a great slick protective wonderfully scented lather in a short space of time. The matching ASL finishes the shave off excellently.

Another enjoyable close comfortable face & head shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Aloe Vera Cooling Gel.

My face is feeling cool smooth, & smelling divine.
