The Williams Mug Shaving Soap lathered well with SlimGem Synthetic brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Open Face Damaskeene Razor and a Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Dickinson's Witch Hazel and then Aqua Velva Iced Blue AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Oh my God am I ever frozen to the max after using this delightful Absolute Zero soap and aftershave - my dear brother Abir in Kolkata, India whipped up two winners. The scent of soap and aftershave is so nice, it’s mainly aquatic but I also detect some minty notes, the soap’s vegan formula gives it terrific lather that’s so thick, rich, slick, cushiony and protective, the menthol sensation is strong enough to floor a polar bear, but the skincare is so soothing and comfortable. The Prep balm is also very cooling as well as very moisturizing and gentle on my skin - that’s another reason why I love it so much. The Absolute Zero aftershave toner contains no alcohol so it never burns or stings and is it ever frigid. Finally the magnificent Bleu de Chanel fragrance and I’m ready to enjoy another day of retirement. Three passes with my Junjie loaded with a ten day old Astra Green blade gave me an incredible BBS that was such a pleasure!

A nice way to close out(until next time)the Bay Rum persuasion of Barbershop Week. Why do I call it nice. 3rd straight day of clean and clear all the way through. No cuts, Knicks, Polka-dots. Once again I mixed things up on the jawline with part "Ice Chipping" part XTG. I had the same razor out for 4 passes(2 yesterday, 2 today). I think I can do well with 4. Not bad for a disposeABLE. Pleased and ready to begin the day. As Outstanding As It Gets.

 

Gary, I wonder if there is a "Tailor" on Bond Street.

Razor : Yaqi 2nd generation or V2 Mellon head 316 SSP with a Yaqi Teardrop 316 SSP handle- Mfg 2023>, tame mid to mid rangel. Machining and finish QC are excellent IMO.
I liked the V1 version so I had to try this V2 model and is slightly more efficient and I tend to use riding the cap a little more than riding the bar, either angle works, easy sweet spot to find and it will sing to the operator when you hit it. The audio feedback is enjoyable with a sizzling sound of whiskers being snipped is best way to describe it. Had a Stellar comfortable close shave this morning.
Blade : Gillette Perma sharp(2) sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity. Thanks to Eric for PIF!
Soap : Razorock The Dead Sea, interesting unique soap with a very enjoyable scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Cavern Lake" 24mm tuxedo knot, excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, great splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. Very nice brush to scrub with and lather paint also.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : The Dead sea AS with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Excellent stellar comfortable close shave with my Yaqi V2 316 SSP razor with a Gillette Perma-sharp 7 oClock blade.
