Gillette Old Type BRW Improved handle Rapira Swedish SuperSteel - Thanks Aaron Semogue 2000 Arko Shave Stick Alum Superior 70 Bay Rum Each day it seems a bit harder to reach for the DE as my love affair with the OCMM grows stronger. This evening the Old Type rewarded me with a very nice shave. It was my first shave with the Rapira Swedish Supersteel blade and it was pretty nice. It reminded me of the Gillette 7OC Permasharp blades. I finished up with a smooth face and next to no irritation.

Friday: Omega Wooden Handle Super Speed/Voskhod day 2 Viking Blue Ice SC Viking Blue Ice AS Balsam Osage Rub AS Bulgari Blu Notte Pour Homme EDT Another super-smooth and close 3 pass shave today with a fantastic cream followed by a matching aftershave balsam which is so moisturizing and soothing. The Russian version of Viking Blue Ice seems to be a lot better than the original version from Bulgaria. As always, the Osage Rub contributed to the freeze. Here are some photos of the Bulgarian and Russian cream and aftershave balsams. The Bulgarian stuff has a picture of a man in a denim shirt.

Friday, August 26, 2011 Prep: Hot shower, California Baby face wash, hand strop blade Lather: California Baby Super Sensitive Shampoo & Bodywash Brush: Frank Shaving Finest Razor: Ever Ready 1924 Blade: Walgreen's Gem (4), 3 passes Post: WH, Aqua-Velva Ice Blue, hand strop blade I've noticed while washing my face w/ the California Baby just how slick it is so I tried it today as my lather. Definitely not a thick lather but boy, oh boy, was it super slick. I had a wonderfully easy, smooth, & comfortable shave with a rather aggressive razor, the ER '24. I'm going to keep using this with a couple other razors to see how it keeps performing. Last time I used this razor with a more traditional lather I still had some irritation. Today's shave with the super slickness produced zero irritation even though I did one more pass than I tend to do.
