    SATURDAY
Quiet morning shave with one of my favorite razors. Tried the 'sensitive skin' RazoRock soap I received in a PIF. Like most RazoRock products I've tried, its a softer soap that yields lather easily. The lather can get foamy quickly and lose slickness if too much water is applied (being a softer soap I should know to add less water!). Once the right consistency is achieved, though, slippery lather resulted enabling me to have a 3-pass, near-BBS shave.
    Have a great Saturday, gents!

image.jpg Razor: Gillette Goodwill #164 1931 (slotted center hole) with original case and blade pack
Brush: Whipped Dog 30/45 Silvertip 2014
Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue
Cream: The Body Shop Maca Root cream
    Blade: Feather (2)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black balm, Old Spice original Shulton 1956 glass AS Stopper #3
Loaded the Feather and checked the alignment. From the side it looks a lot like my Gillette Old Type Open Comb Ball End, but shaves like my Tech. I whipped up the Maca Root with the Silvertip in my favorite mug. First pass WTG very nice glide with no pressure with this light razor. Second pass XTG on my face and then ATG on my neck. The Maca Root was nice and slick and helped get a great shave. A little touchup on my neck, and done. Great razor! Very smooth. The WH felt good and then some JB. And then some Vintage Old Spice from 1956. Time in a bottle.....

    Razor: Gillette Super Adjustable (9)
    Blade: Voskhod (1)
    Brush: Omega 13109
    Lather: Nivea Sensitive Shave Cream
Post: Cold rinse, Alum, Witch Hazel, TSD Sandalwood AS Milk

Second attempt at face lathering with a shave cream. Tiny nick around the chin, but impressive razor. I'm glad I could catch up for adjustable august. :p

    Have a great weekend.

    RAZOR: GILLETTE SUPERSPEED FLAIR TIP
    BLADE: GILLETTE YELLOW (4TH USE)
    BRUSH: OMEGA S SYNTHETIC
    SOAP: PPF OAKMOSS & SAGE
    POST: F&C BLACK POWDER

Had a pretty good shave this morning. Despite all the controversy surrounding HTGAM/PPF/PAA, this really is a decent soap and it has a good scent IMO. F&C makes great aftershaves and I am a fan of all of them. Some I like more than others, but they have great longevity and are not too heavy on the menthol. Crystals can be added to almost any A/S to make it stronger, but I believe that people that are not menthol heads would like Folsom & CO. as well. Shave turned out good with no nicks or weepers and pretty close to BBS. Hope everyone has a great shave and a great Saturday!!

Great review on the Slim and synthetic. I rotate my FB, Slim, and Black Beauty usually one after another, and the FB wins for me because of the heavier weight. The Black Beauty seems harsher to me than the others, and I think it's because with the lighter weight I apply too much pressure. With the synthetic brushes, I agree it is a different process to get good lather. I have it figured out with my Sterling, but I much prefer my Silvertips . Welcome back from vacation with your bride.:eatdrink047:

It is always that pesky YMMV issue that forces us to always test it ourselves. If you can call what I did a test, it is probably more of a try really if it weren't for the fact that there is no try :)

Razor – Wolfman OC with Triad Helix SS
    Blade – Feather (2)
Brush – Rubberset 400 with Omega Boar
    Lather – Mystic Water Lavender
Post - Witch Hazel & Captain’s Choice Bay Rum

A fantastic 3 pass near BBS shave this morning. Mystic Water soaps were hard for me to lather consistently in the beginning. I have found I can lather the soap with my boar brushes better. Finished off with a splash of CC Bay Rum .

Is that a 10066 omega boar?

Thank you. No that one is a Omega Pro 49 boar. It was a pain in the neck to get in. I had to widen the opening all the way to the max. If I had it to do over, I would use the Omega 10066 boar instead.

I have never understood why more people don't use this soap. You are the only other person I know who has ever tried it.
Out of curiosity what are the other 2 soaps?

    - Anything by Fitjar, and
