A good shave. Not the best, definitely not the worst! Love the TSD AS. Used Iced Subzero today and used Bourbon Vanilla yesterday. Great stuff!

    Shave of the day

Pre- Hot shower, Anna and Claras bath soap Sandalwood
    Soap/cream- Martin de Candre fougere
    Brush- Plisson synthetic
Razor- WEBER polished head stainless steel
    Blade- Gillette silver blue(2)
Post- Cold water rinse, Rosenserien aftershave tonic and Nivea original aftershave balm

Had a very nice shave. The MdC never disappoints me.

GSB is nice but.. Hmm, this blade was a little different from the GSBs I have tried before. This ones is from my blade sampler I bought in the beginning. It wasn't as smooth as the ones I have shaved with lately. I wonder why. I need to try a few more blades from the pack to see if it was a bad blade or what.

Rosenserien is a nice Swedish brand aftershave. It's very natural and it feels nice upon applying to the face.

Nivea balm is Nivea balm. It's a must after every shave. A great balm! I will never be without it

Traveling to Italy tonight! Gotta be clean shaven!

Thank you! I got lucky, no sanding just some Bar Keepers Friend, and then some Flitz.

2 day growth was no problem for this razor on setting 6. Big day ahead. Nothing will prepare me more today than a great shave.

Thank you. I am very pleased with it. The knot is a silver tip from Virginia Sheng. It is 23.5x70mm. I set it for a 52mm loft. I had done a test lather with it on Saturday with a bowl, but today was strictly face lathering. It was heavenly.

60 yo newbie’s intro to traditional shaving. (Week 15 AC*)

    Adjustable August
30-Day Focus - Gillette Adjustable Slim / Fatboy

    Mid-morning shave.
    Hot Shower
    Soap: Arko (homemade travel stick)
    Brush: Butterscotch Fauxmere 24mm synthetic
    Razor: Gillette Fatboy (1961)
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (2)
    After Shave: Proraso Green

    Fatboy settings at:
    7 - WTG
    7 - ATG
No touch-up or repeat strokes. This is as much about technique as it is about finding the best settings on the razor for me.

This month has gone by so quickly as I've tried to learn the Slim and attempt the same with the FB. I've gotten very nice shaves all month. Given the time left in the month, I'm going to try to attempt a quick comparison using a mini 8-shave Rule, alternating every two shaves between the Slim and FB.

    Shave 1 Fatboy (8/22 - two-growth)
Close shave. FB feels very comfortable in my hand.
    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1440451210.686865.jpg
    Shave 2 Fatboy (8/24 - two-growth)
    - first pass - I continue to notice a good deal of audible feedback, with both adjustables, in my brief experience with them. I dared myself to almost go right to the top of the cap, so a very shallow angle. Noise reduced from previous shaves, whisker reduction still good.
    - second pass - same angle. Very close, comfortable pass.

    Onto the Slim tomorrow.

    Cheers!

    Day 24
Excellent shave this evening with these products. The Gillette Slim has a different feel than the FB's, however it does give a DFS. Classic Barbershop soap is an excellent way to lather up. Another day on #6, then to #7.

Great shave this morning with the Schick Paul Revere.
It sure is a big razor but I think I've been desensitized after having used the Mongoose.
Really been enjoying injectors and even cartridges lately for some reason.

    Dove Men Face Wash
    Col. Conk Amber Shave Soap
Jayaruh #14 Finest Badger (first shave)
    Gem Push-button
    GEM Stainless
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Pinaud Clubman

The Col. Conk Amber Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #14 Finest Badger brush. Two passes with my Gem Push-button razor and a GEM Stainless SE blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
