I've enjoyed a very relaxing Saturday evening shave after a gorgeous day out with the family:

Martin de Candre ‘Savon de Marseille’ face wash
    Musgo Real pre shave oil
Martin de Candre scented shave soap
Mühle Basic Nr. 02 shave brush in faux horn, with Silver Tip Fibre
    Merkur Vision
    Gillette Platinum blade (2nd shave)
    Bloc Osma alum
    Speick Men after shave

My wife passed by the bathroom and was wondering why i shaved. My spontaneous answer (which must have been on my mind, hence the decision to shave) was "because it's relaxing". And yes, actually, it does relax me a great deal, that (near) daily ritual.

Shave of the Day (SOTD) Saturday September 1, 2012
    [IMG]
Prep: Brush soaking in ice water, face wash with Noxzema Triple Clean, cold shower
    Razor: Cadet TTO-15
    Blade: Gillette Wilkinson Sword (2)
    Brush: Semogue 820 Boar
    Cream: Domino Cream (from Macedonia)
    AS: Aqua Velva Musk
Post: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Rub, Cold Water Rinse, Double Splash Of Aftershave.

Day two of shaving with the Cadet TTO-15, I will use it until the blade expires, and move it into part of my rotation, which is odd for me, because typically I do not like TTO's.

This is also the second use of the Domino cream, which I believe is only available from Shave A Buck in the United States. This is another Macedonia product by Alkaloid which also makes Кing Code, Habana and the much praised Sah Zefros.

I thoroughly enjoy this cream, the lather produced is better than many creams costing two to three times the amount. I wish that it came in a tube larger than the 60 ml although it requires such a small amount to build a nice lather this size should last a while.

Three passes and light touch-ups produced a BBS that was completely irritation free.

    09.01.2012 - Saturday
    Coffee: Seattle's Best #5 - One Splenda w/fiber!
    Tunes: Pandora - Classic Country
Prep: Hot shower. Face washed with Shea Moisture
Razor: 1965 Gillette Adjustable Slim - Set on 3
    Blade: Drugstore Personna
    Brush: VDH Pure Badger
    Cream: C&E Sienna
Post: Cold water rinse. Homemade splash and balm

My first shave with this razor. I haven't used a drugstore blade in a while and dear fellow...could I feel the difference! Shave was just fine but the blade certainly struggles a bit more through the hair....slight pull/tug.

End result was a super smooth except for my regular spot under the chin. One small weeper on the cheese grater.

    Vie Long Horse/Badger

Late shave, had to take the car in to go get detailed (I bought it off the lot before they could do the delivery cleaning). My driveway looks so naked...

Arley, I was thinking of ordering this Domino cream from Shaveabuck. In fact, a guy I know here in Montreal is from Macedonia and he says it's a top seller over there. He thinks it's even better than Sah Zefros, so don't be surprised if soon I write a personal review about it! ;)

Sorry to hear the Rapira was not kind to you. Zero pressure was my key to a perfect shave. Very different from that voskod blade for sure.

    Saturday Early Afternoon

Some yard work followed by ...

    Pre (Eucerin, cold shower)
    Omega 10083 Pro boar
    L'Occitane Cade SS
Merkur 23c w/ Wilkinson Sword Classic
Post (Cetaphil, Dickinson's WH, cold water rinse, Nivea Sensitive lotion)
    Master Bay Rum

BBS by means of wtg, xtg, atg, touch-up. As long as I use my Cetaphil cleanser, the L'Occitane Cade scent doesn't linger overly long. First usage of Wilkinson Sword Classic ... nice blade. Sharp enough. Not my sharpest blade in the quiver, but good enough. Comfortable. :happy088:

I understand that not all blades are good for everyone. No biggie, these are just on my "not for me" list. I'll stick to my Astras and Vokshods for 10-12 cents a piece,

    Saturday: 9-1-12

Shower: Burt's Bees Men's Care Soap
    Razor: Parker 22
    Soap: DMN (Sandlewood)
    Blade: Blind Blade

Today's shave as a DFS but took a bit of work. 1st I added too much water to the lather...Tried to work with it, but had to toss it and start over. I received several blades very generously with a PIF that I won. I am excited to try them all and will post reviews. This 1st one was a skin graft blade. It did okay...But way too much tug and pull on the 1st use. So I retired the blade after one use. Did end up with a DFS...but not the way I wanted to. :(

First shave since the 29th. Needless to say, the micromatic was the weapon of choice, so I didn't have to feel tugging! The shave was great! Its getting cooler here, and when that happens my face starts to react negatively, so I pulled out the wool fat to help protect it. I will be using for a while now, as well as my TSD lanolin, because they work well for the fall and winter.

That L'Occitane is a solid soap option. I was pleasantly surprised. I use it weekly.
