Couldn't get this up last night, so my Fri. night shave face & head in hotel:
    -Weishi Gunmetal
    -Astra Superior Platinum d2
    -Omega 20086 boar
    -VDH Deluxe
    -Alum Block
    -TSD Bergamot AS

The Astra continues to be a great blade in every razor I try it in. So far the Weishi has been very good with a Dorco 301 and Astra, but irritating with a 7 O'Clock SE. I'll post a full review of the razor once I've tried a few more blades. Next is either a Crytal or Feather, I'll decide tonight.

To be clear, since I'm shaving face and head with the same razor, I'm getting only 2 days/blade. That's the same as 4 shaves when I'm at home using different razors.

Friday night shave in the hotel:
    Weishi gunmetal
    Crystal Personna
    Arko Stick
    Omega 20086
    Alum Block
    TSD Bergamot Splash

I used bottled water for my lather tonight, since I've notice my lather seems just slightly "off" at the hotel regardless of which of my limited soaps I used. BIG improvement and a great near-BBS shave.

    9 AUG. '9. SUN-
    DAY.

    Wash: US Yardley's
    Razor: Merkur Long
    Blade: Dorco ST-300
    Lather: Omega Bowl
    Brush: Omega 10077
    Splash: Master's Bay.

    ...

Out of all the bath soaps I've used, I'd have to say the Connecticut-made variety of Yardley's of London is my top choice, the Oatmeal-Almond being my favorite, and the one with which I showered today.

The Aloe-Cucumber, which doesn't sound appealing on paper, is a close second IMO, but I neither like the bland Lavender nor disgusting Verbena.

Still, these tallow-based, inexpensively-priced soaps which fit the hand to a T and lather with gusto wash you well and do it without overstripping.

    II.

I can't stand big brushes anymore: overwhelming lather hogs. The only brush I need is the one I bought in Dubai for nothing, thinking it'd be a joke, and then realizing it beat all my badgers - the Omega 10077.

My C&E Pure, a bit bigger, is also acceptable, but the boar's better constructed (robust, it never sheds a hair) and, less floppy, more enjoyable to use.

In Saint Jean-de-Luz, France, but you can also buy it in Bordeaux.

    http://www.comptoirdessavonniers33.com/

They only sell soap, no boxes or bowls, and the Shave soap is not being sold by their website, only in their shops:confused:....

And near Spain,....but I advice you to go to the Sud, near the mediterranean, La Provence is the well known french region for the perfums, soaps, essences, etc..... Bordeaux is better for red wine.....and Saint Jean-de-Luz for chocolats.
