Originally I was planning to shave with either my MITA soap or with my Egyptian Ingram Blue cream, but when the wife told me it was going to be 86F and very humid I decided to break out some of the really heavy menthol artillery because I'll definitely need it. The Glacial Wintergreen soap's lather is such a pleasure to work with and do I ever LOVE the scent. The intense cold starts pounding your face as soon as you start lathering up, and the second pass feels ten times colder. The matching balm and witch hazel complete a bone-chilling experience beautifully! ;) :D

    My first ever SOTN.

I've been busy getting my house ready to move back in so I skipped a couple days. I have an early day tomorrow so I figured I'd shave tonight. And I miss shaving... ;)

Set the FB on 7 for first pass and cleanup on 2. I wanted to go extremes that I haven't done before, that why the spread on settings.

    DFS!

It took me awhile between shave and post today. I had to ride my bike into work this evening and the potholes cracks and road construction isn't very good the the lights on my person pedaled ride. I lost my taillight and my headlight kept jiggling down so that I couldn't see. Anyway here is my shave for September 1st.

I took out my type G today and marveled at the beauty of it for a few minutes while my brush soaked and my whiskers softened under a hot towel. I loaded up my brush with Proraso white and face lathered. It took more effort to get a decent lather from it today. I think I was excited about using the injector because after I loaded up a second time it gave me its usual great lather. I laid the razor on M face riding the cap and slowly rotating the handle down towards my face until I could hear the blade cutting. It was such a natural feeling angle and the whole shave was effortless. I did a 3 pass WTG XTG and ATG and got BBS with zero irritation and only very minor touch UPS around the jawline. I was so shocked at how amazing this shave was that I decided to test it by using what I almost never use, alcohol based shave balm. I pulled out my dusty ill used tube of Gillette fusion cooling shave balm, squeezed some into my hands and, prepared for the worst, slapped it on. I felt the cooling effects of the menthol but not even a tingle from the alcohol. If the rest of this month goes half this well I may have some DE razors to sell or PIF.

Another amazing shave thanks to Cold River Soap Works. The Jardin d'Orange soap lathered immediately into slick yogurty goodness on the tips of the HIS brush. I could barely feel my 1959 Fatboy, set on 9-9-7, as it decimated my stubble. I finished this glorious shave with CRSW Jardin d'Orange balm and B&M Cologne Russe used as cologne. I feel and smell great.
    Prep: Van Yulay PSO
    Soap: CRSW Jd'O
    Brush: HIS
    Razor: Fatboy
    Blade: Voskhod (2)
AS: CRSW Jd'O balm, B&M Cologne Russe

Uber-lather with L'Occitane Cade and TOBS Lavender
    Feather blade
    Slim Adjustable
    3 passes

I bowl lathered again today and have convinced myself that face lathering is the way to go. I just no longer see the advantage to bowl lathering, even with an uber-lather. 3 passes and very smooth.
