    2007.12.14 Shave of the Day

    Shower
    Hair Tonic: Lucky Tiger Special Formula Hair Tonic [LInk}
    Shave

    Razor:
    Feather Artist Club DX Japanese Style Non-Folding Razor ACD-N [Link]
    Razor Blades: Feather Professional Blades for Feather ACD-N [Link]
    Razor:
    Merkur 37C Slant Bar HD Double Edged Safety Razor Chrome [Link}
    Razor Blades:
    Feather High Stainless Platinum Double Edged Razor Blades [Link}
    Bowl: Mitsuwa 6" Beige shallow hand thrown Japanese bowl with side rest [Link]
    Brush:
    Crabtree & Evelyn Edwin Jagger Made Small Best Badger Brush [Link]
    Shave Cream/Soap:
    Crabtree & Evelyn Sweet Almond Oil Shave Cream [Link]
    Technique: (Feather WTG/ATG)/(DE XTG/Cleanup)
    Post Shave
    Aftershave Balm: Mama Bear Unscented Summer Aftershave Milk [Link]
    Aftershave:
    Thayer's Witch Hazel Aftershave [Link]
    Aftershave Talc: Pinaud Clubman Aftershave Talc [Link]

    Result:
    4.0/5.0 OK, the numbers don't show it but it was a wonderful shave. C&E Sweet Almond Oil creams come through again. The fault was me pushing the envelope with the Feather ACD-N. Damn, I got a close shave though. It's those tiny little nooks and crannies, even with stretching that make it so tough. I'm learning though. All this will pay off in the end when I do more with str8s. Each time I pick a str8 up my technique gets better.

    Beautiful photo Yukio, are you sporting the Van Dyke these days?

    Nope. I halved my beard last week. The results were definitely unsatisfying on the cheek and neck areas. I haven’t tried the Van Dyke yet, I’m afraid to cut too much. I posted this photo just because it was there, unloved.

    (Thank you)

    It's what we in New England have instead of brush fires, tornadoes, mudslides, earthquakes and hurricanes. :eek:

    I take it you were in Mass at the time? ;) Hey, it was no big deal. Just got a couple of days off work. Didn't even lose power. :D

    Matter of fact, we had just moved into the house one week before...from an apartment. Talk about a shock! I hadn't shoveled snow in years and was faced with two feet of it - 4' in some places! I have a snowblower now. :eek:

    Floid aftershave

    Almost the same as yesterday...why mess with success?! :D

    Actually, the Thayer's is "Original (Astringent)" with 10% grain alcohol, though I don't notice the booze. I also use their Lavender and Rose and maybe it's my imagination, but this one just doesn't feel the same. Not bad, just different. Anyone else notice that?
