Still using my old Gillette Altra. Working on technique before switching to one the DE razors I've picked up. Transition imminent.

    L'occataine pre-shave oil under a hot towel
Gillette Aristocrat, no date code or notch
    Gillette 'Swede', day 2
    C&E Super Badger brush
    Tryphon Sandalwood shave cream
    Thayer's witch hazel with aloe
    shower
    C&E Sandalwood aftershave balm

What a wonderful shave to start the new year! I got up early, I have to work today, and spent an entire half hour on my shave. I used L'occataine pre shave oil and a hot towel to prep the first pass, and left it on while I set up the coffee pot, mixed up a great lather from the Tryphon cream, and started mowing my whiskers. I was near bbs after the second pass, but I was on a roll, so I went for a third pass,ATG. Smooth and slick!

    Happy New Year, everyone!

New Year's Day: 1947 Gillette Super Speed / Bolzano blade d2 / Cella Crema da Barba soap / Generic Pure Badger Brush / Florida Water Cologne / Wesley & Scott Lime After Shave Balm

What a wonderful shave to start the year with. The '47 Super Speed/Balzano blade combo is fantastic, smooth, close and comfortable. Of course the Cella soap helps considerably. Now to get ready for all day football

I love the smell of Florida water,, but it burns me bad if I put it on right after a shave.. I usually use it later in the day as a cologne if I am going out or somethine... Great looking setup for today.

    New Years Day

Trac11 all metal razor & Personna cartridge
    Pirates Cove Lime Soap
    Omega small boar brush
    Thayers Rose Witch Hazel
    Tabac After Shave

Just a great shave combination. Trac 11 was the first cartridge razor with a fixed head.

  13. After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

    Shavemac 22mm silvertip
    Fatboy/ Iridium
    TSD 'Lime' SS
    LT AS
Storer 'Monk' EdP ( I am liking this stuff, and glad I bought it blind).

Nice getting JoAnna's soap out of the 'weapons' locker.......heh. Yeah, it had been a little too long since I used that, and the lather helped in making for a very nice shave. Hehe, I even remembered about her product, and got the ratio right the first time. The fatboy with a fresh Iridium did it's usual magic, and BBS is what happened.

    Ok, I'm done,
    Martin

    Thursday 1/1 . . .

    • [*]Prep: Rite Aid Skin Cleansing Cream & Hot Towel
[*]Brush: Knotty Badger refurbished Ever Ready 300 Silvertip
      [*]Cream: T&H 1805
[*]Razor: '36 Gillette NEW with Standard Bar Handle
      [*]Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock SharpEdge (shave 10)
[*]A/S: Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel Toner & C&E Sandalwood ASB
      [*]EDT: C&E Sandalwood EDT

[*]Result: Very nice 3 pass shave. No BBS today but then I was not going for it as I shaved in mid afternoon rather than morning. Almost did not shave but as I thought about it I realized just how much I enjoy shaving these days. Had to shower anyway so why not prep for a shave and then shave. Glad I did.
