Thank you, everyone. I'll be laying low for a day or so before heading back to the office, hopefully by Thursday. There's a mountain of items that require my attention before Christmas week hits!

    • Prep: shower
    • Razor: Weber DLC
    • Blade: Polsilver SI (4)
    • Brush: Frank Shaving Faux Agate
    • Soap: LA Shaving Soap Co. Bespoke #1 sample
    • Post: Thayers Medicated Superhazel
    • After shave: Floid mentolado vigoroso, Bulldog balm
Another fine shave with the Weber DLC and Polsilver SI. I feel I got a slightly closer shave, compared to my 2 previous shaves. I did however nick myself on the right side of the neck, which is always a problem area for me. This was in part due to the fact that I had to do a touch up pass after a regular 3 pass shave. I didn't have to do touch ups with the Mühle R89 JET for the most part. So I decided to shim the razor for the next 2 shaves.

I can think of maybe 4 razors that Id be lucky to shave with for the rest of my days....This one is one of two at the top of that list...Because she's so mild but shaves so close, like a far more aggressive razor...;)

    Menthol Monday.

Prep: hot shower, Cremo Face Wash, Sasquatch Gold Moss bath soap.
    Brush: Turkish #6 brush.
    Razor: 40's style Rocket.
    Blade: Personna Lab.
    Soap: Stirling Glacial.
Post: cold water rinse, Barbon AS.

I love Menthol Mondays. I usually prefer menthol stuff in my shaves, but I went all out today. The Stirling Glacial was kind of a PITA to lather up, but I was patient and was rewarded with a more than sufficient lather. While it might not have the volume of some lathers like Tabac, Palmolive, Arko, or Proraso; it makes up for with slickness and skincare. I didn't have to use any aftershave, but I did anyway. It also lives up to its name. It is the absolute coldest soap I have ever used. If you are sensitive to menthol, I suggest you forego this soap for something more mild. This soap makes my eyes water, my nose run, and my face go numb. The Rocket is becoming a quick favorite in my DE inventory. It won't beat my Slim, but it is still a very effective, forgiving razor. I don't regret buying a Rocket at all. I am also very happy that I bought some more Barbon AS. It is in my top 5 favorite aftershaves and is the only non-artisan one that I currently use. It has a bitter cooling effect, a good scent, and awesome skincare. While it might have been overkill, I enjoy using it.

John Beeman Little chicken in hot water

    Tuesday: cheap week
hot shower (spared no expense on the water)
Maggard Eucalpytus PSO (vendor freebie sample)
Gillette Y4 Ball End Tech 3 passes (PIF)
    SuperMax Platinum (1) (PIF)
    VDH boar (less than $10)
C O Bigelow cream in a warm mug (PIF)
    Thayers unscented w/aloe (pennies)
Brut Original AS (less than $10)

Too cold this time of year to not spend money on hot water so I had to leave that one alone even for Cheap Week. I did use a free sample bar of Speick soap if that provides any justification. Lots of stuff that I won in a PIF a while back so that was all free. I have a VDH boar brush that I also won in the same PIF but it's identical to the one I use so I've never taken it out of the box. I indicated "pennies" for the splash of Thayers since a 12 ounce bottle is less than 10 bucks so I could probably say the same thing for the splash of aftershave and the hundreds of shaves I'll eventually get from the brush.

Another great face-freezing shave this morning which I found so enjoyable. The only thing I find about the Awakenings soap which could be improved is the moisturizing aspect, otherwise everything else about it is really nice. The Gillette balm is very cooling, as well as moisturizing and soothing and the Floid Classic aftershave is delightful. ;) :D

I love the Proraso Green. The Parker pure badger brush did a good job with two face-lathers and clean-up on the neck. The Schick M continues to be a marvel of shaving wonder. I finished off this close comfortable shave with Thayers Cucumber WH and Pinaud Clubman AS. I am clean, refreshed, and ready to go. We will be attending Christmas at the Cove: Behold the Lamb of God this evening. Looking forward to some quality time with SWMBO.

    Prep: hot shower
    Razor: WW2 Gillette Khaki
    Blade: Sheffield Special (day 2)
    Brush: Wilkinson Sword
    Soap: Proraso white tub
    Passes: 3 (WTG x2, XTG)
    Post: cold water, Proraso blue

I had more confidence with the Sheffield Special today. I could still feel the blade doing its job, but it was not as pronounced. The audible feedback back was not subtle with today's shave.

I had great lather today, with enough left over for a fourth pass. I was quite enjoying the menthol from the Proraso that I decided to lather up with the remaining lather whole I cleaned up just to milk the menthol feeling... I might have a problem.

    Prep: Warm shower, Cornhuskers Lotion
    Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89L
    Blade: Voskhod (5)
    Cream: C.O. Bigelow
    Brush: VDH Boar
    Post: Witch Hazel, Cornhuskers Lotion
    Aftershave: Pinaud Clubman

I was trying to see how many shaves I could get out of the Voskhod blade. I could probably get another one, but I can tell it's getting dull. No need to push it. I'll reload for tomorrow. All in all, another terrific shave.

    Have a great day!

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angle for my beard a bit)

I used my Barbon Cream and Aftershave today. The 2nd shave with the Gillette Platinum in the Slim was excellent: smooth, close, nick & burn free. The menthol Barbon AS was a great finish.

Had to get up and shovel today, so a two pass SAS had to suffice. I went WTG ATG and the LASS Woody Lavender provided plenty of protection. My face feels good - no burn or weepers.
