    Back among the living….

Pre: Hot shower, SheaMoisture Scrub, Homemade PSO
    Razor: Mühle R41 Grande (2011)
    Blade: Personna Lab (2)
    Brush: Whipped Dog 30mm Silvertip
Lather: Stirling soap 'Black Ice', scuttle-warmed
    Shave: Two pass, plus touch-up
Post: Cold water rinse, Alum block, 444 balm

Had a great shave this morn before heading back to work (finally!); fever broke & I feel about semi-normal.
The Stirling 'Black Ice' was terrific! Great black licorice scent (anise), and cooling menthol made a wonderful, thick & slick lather. Nice soap!

    Have a super Thursday all!

Haven't use a straight or shavette in a while. Trying to get back into it to motivate myself to learn to hone my straights. A bit or irritation on my right side neck/jaw line which is the problem area for me with straights.

Freezing the face off is so much fun especially with JoAnna's awesome ISZ soap. Man, I love the lather it gives and the scent is also real nice and COLD. It also gives great skincare. I freaked out the first time I ever used the Anherb conditioner, and now it's a favourite of mine. I also cannot be without the Rubby Dubby Doo. Another wonderful shave. ;) :D

No photos today, but I wish everyone a great weekend! :)

This was one of my best shaves ever. Babies would kill to have skin as smooth as mine. ;)

It's the last day of the work year for me. I won't return to work until January 6, 2014. I'm really looking forward to a relaxing couple of weeks. I'll definitely still shave every day, but it won't be quite as early!

    Have a great day!

    Friday:
    hot shower
    Homemade PSO
    Schick Injector 3 passes
    Personna Platinum Chrome (1)
    VDH boar
LA Shaving Topanga Fougere (sample) in a warm mug
    Florida Water (sample)

Well, so much for cheap week. I got some new stuff in the mail last night so I really didn't care what anything cost (I just wanted to try it). I also didn't really need to shave today since I just shaved yesterday but I didn't care about that either.
The razor is of unknown vintage. I've got two of them and there's slight diffences but I don't know the age of either. They're the ones with the gold head and butterscotch bakelight handle that you see so many of. 1st time using an injector and definitely a different feel than either my DE's or my other SE's. The sound is more of a scraping sound and I think it'll take me a few runs to get the angles just right.
I've been super impressed with the LA Shave soaps but think I skimped on product today since the lather was on the thin side.
Sniffed the Florida Water last night when I got it and was pleasantly surprised when I applied it this morning. I don't know how to describe it but the sensation was different than anything else I've ever used and the scent is very nice yet mild. I'll definitely be ordering a regular size bottle.

I prefer to use soaps but would have to admit that I don't think there is a better shaving product for my face than Tabac shaving cream. I've been out of it for a while and found it on sale so I picked up a couple of tubes. The first pass was a little dry but I hit it perfect on the second. Excellent shave this morning. BTW, I bought myself a Christmas present, a Kanayama strop that I'm looking forward to using. I've always had the attitude that a strop is a strop and I guess I'll see if I'm right or wrong about that. Have a good one.

    Prep: Hot Shower
    Soap: Compass Ice Energy Cream
    Razor: Maggard MR1
    Blade: Gillette Platinum (1)
    Brush: Whipped Dog Silvertip
    Aftershave: Arctic Blue

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angle for my beard a bit)

I was back with my Maggard MR1 today using a Gillette Platinum. I lathered with another Bulgarian cream, Compass Ice Energy. The Compass Ice lathered very easily and gave a very good shave. It is lighter on the menthol than I expected from the name. The MR1 and Gillette Platinum worked well together. I finished with grocery store “Arctic Blue” (not a fan).
